I have watched many Clemson baseball games and a few soccer games on WatchESPN. I would probably watch even more if the devices I own offered the app. I have a PS3 and a Sony Blu-Ray player and neither of them have the WatchESPN app. So, as it is now, I typically use the app on my iPad and hook it up to my TV via HDMI.

Does the contract extension with ESPN also extend ESPN's contract with Raycom? Who is to say that Raycom goes away? Now, the syndicated Fox content might go away (which might be filled with Pac12 stuff if they partner with fox on their network) but I have not seen anything in relation to this new deal and Raycom.

Wow. I can't disprove that possibility, but I sure hope they don't extend Raycom!

I use playon app to watch from my PS3, but I bought the lifetime version of the app years ago for about $50... don't think they have anything similar anymore. Probably cheaper to get a roku or chromecast anyway.
Wish Sony would do a native app though so I would not have to run the server on my PC.

Thanks for the reminder. I actually have PlayOn as well. I purchased the lifetime version years back also. I had forgotten about it since it is a bit of a hassle to have to run the server component. It is another option, but a native app would be much better. For now, I think my iPad is the easiest option, but it does keep me from being able to use the iPad for other things at the same time. :) Perhaps a Chromecast would be a good idea.
On a semi-related note, my blu-ray player has the ACC Digital Network app, but I have never seen any value in it.

Does syndication just go away? Are there any SEC or B1G games still syndicated?

Does that dual ACC Network go away....the one down in the SE with a Second Broadcast team covering the same game?

I hope over-the-air syndication via raycom continues ...
may come as a shock to some y'all ...
not everybody can't afford cable, satellite or internet connection ...
and is there really a difference between the ACC syndicated game of the week vs. the B1G game of the week on fox ...
ditto for the SEC on CBS ...
NOT A DIME'S WORTH

All well and good, Green, but how do you propose to make more money without charging your customers anything?

All well and good, Green, but how do you propose to make more money without charging your customers anything?
Raycom Sports, part of Alabama-based Raycom Media, produces and distributes college football and men’s basketball games as part of an arrangement as a sub-licensee to ACC media rights-holder ESPN.
Raycom runs the ACC website, sells sponsorships on behalf of the league and has shaped the conference’s mobile apps and archival line-up as part of its close partnership with the conference.

excuse the typo ...
how do you propose to pay raycom for services rendered ...

However, what about the rest of the year?
I just don't understand how these things are such big cash cows for their respective conferences? It doesn't seem to add up.
Like everyone else on the forum like this one, I am a huge college sports fan and even I don't think I would be terribly tempted to look in on that channel very often and there is no way I am dialing up my laptop to watch Olympic sports.
I cannot imagine I'm alone here and we are by definition the most fanatical of the fanatics. What about everyone else?
Who the hell is watching this stuff?
I don't think the viewers will be using laptops. The cord cutters use the rokus, Xbox, and other such devices to watch these on the TV. You can get Netflix, HBO Go, and the ACC Network and have a solid set of viewing options cheaper than cable.
When it comes to Olympic sports I'll watch Louisville if they are on, but it isn't appointment viewing.

I have Netflix, SlingTV, WatchESPN, the ACC Digital Network, etc. all screaming through a Roku2. Total cost: $65 for internet, $20 for Sling w/ESPN, and $10 for Netflix = $95. We also get extra kids channels for $5 more because I like quiet.
