Would this do it? I don't think any of this out of the realm of possibility.

Houston 4-0 (win over Oklahoma)
Navy 3-1 (loss to ND)
Memphis 3-1 (loss at Ole Miss)
Tulsa 3-1 (loss at Ohio St)
SMU 2-2 (losses to Baylor & TCU)
Tulane 4-0 (win over Wake Forest)
Cincy 4-0 (win over BYU)
USF 3-1 (loss to FSU)
Temple 3-1 (loss at Penn St)
UCONN 3-1 (loss to UVA)
ECU 3-1 (loss to Va Tech)
UCF 3-1 (loss to Michigan)

I'll take being #5 so we can taunt the P5. Going to be tough.

when will you people get it??????????????????????????

#5 will be fine for me. That right there would certainly get that, but don't hope for it.

I think to get to #5 we need:

-no G5 losses
-no FCS losses
-get the access bowl
-upset wins from the top 5

Agreed bc1, we ND at least 7.5 mil per to gain respect , then we can build up our existing bowls, right now things suck

Well, and more to the point of this thread, the AAC will NEVER be ranked "#4." We are not in the same league as the other 5...and whether we're #6, #7, or #8 is irrelevant.

Enough wins can get you ranked in the 4-5. Do I think it will happen, no, but lets force their hand and make it happen.

Non P5's just won the national title in men's & women's hoops and baseball. I think Houston has a real shot to make some noise, the rest of has to do our part and the league SOS up. They may still screw us, but if it's bad enough it will only make the system look like a fraud.

again...if things get to that point the P5 will 'fix it'

you guys don't understand you are playing with the deck stacked against you

and in the bigger scheme of things...a college baseball championship means squat. Nobody cares. Heck the AAC could win the mens and women's hoops title every year for five years in a row and nobody would pay us any mind. Football is the thing....and the deck is stacked against us.

Yeah you're not breaking any news here. So roll over, give up, and die?

no, just realize the lay of the land and accept it....the best we can hope for is an occasional NY6 bowl and an occasional team that is really good only to lose their coach to a big boy program

it's just the way it is in the life of the G5

basically if your team catches lightning in a bottle, enjoy it, it probably won't happen again in the near future and it doesn't make your program or the conference 'big time'....because we're not

our bowls and tv revenue prove how 'big time' we are...which is to say, we are not

its like Ball State from a few years ago...GREAT team, legit top 15....but it was still BAll State and still the MAC and what have they done since...nada

thats us

It has to be sustained success like Boise State. Since the BCS is done away with the best to hope for is NY6 bowl Peach or Cotton not even a big four bowl. The CFP marginalized G5 teams even more.

Boise laid the wood to high ranked Oklahoma team in BCS Bowl, if Houston could beat OU then run the table, Houston should be in the conversation at the end of the year.

at the end of the day the AAC is no different than CUSA, the Sun Belt, the Mac, or the MWC,

we all have everything in common:

1. mid major programs that are #2,3, or 4 in the state: check
2. crap bowl line up: check
3. crap TV payout: check
4. By in large, stadiums that seat 40k or less: check
its all the same boys...sorry to ruin your pretend-world where the AAC is a 'p6' lol

cotton was the championship bowl for the swc and decided plenty national championships

and arguably the greatest bowl game ever as mentioned by many happened in the cotton bowl in one of the dark moments in UH history in what is known as the "ice bowl" or the "chicken soup game"

Houston was blowing out ND on Joe Montana's last college game during an ice storm, supposedly he had a cold.. late in the 3rd according to rumors he had a bowl of chicken noodle soup and pulls of one of the biggest bowl comebacks in history

which is why plenty of Houston fans are hoping for a rematch in this years cotton bowl and how iconic it would be to get our revenge

and technically the cotton bowl is historically bigger than the fiesta bowl, not that it matters the fiesta is also a g5 atlarge

historically its:
1) rose bowl
2) tie between cotton, orange and sugar
3) fiesta
4) peach

side note when did you become so negative again...you turned a corner and went back to negativity

honest question if its all the same, if UC voluntarily went to c-usa, with their 200k deal per, average 1 "national" tv game a year, average less than 19k fans, where their #6 team plays the #5 sunbelt, instead of the #1 mwc team in a bowl

would you be ok with that?

its all the same boys...sorry to ruin your pretend-world where the AAC is a 'p6' lol

side note when did you become so negative again...you turned a corner and went back to negativity

honest question if its all the same, if UC voluntarily went to c-usa, with their 200k deal per, average 1 "national" tv game a year, average less than 19k fans, where their #6 team plays the #5 sunbelt, instead of the #1 mwc team in a bowl

would you be ok with that?

Yup...if we are equal to the c-usa, sunbelt, and MAC they might as well move leagues. They can join their peer Ohio mac schools. 07-coffee3
