I've said this on here before, but calling it the convocation center reminds me of our friends in Lynchburg. They have something called convocation, some kind of weekly deal that all students are required to attend. We need to let them have this name, period. Arena is what I would prefer but drop this convocation crap.

Thank you Mike Battle & Family. As far as a name, ANYTHING that doesn't include the word Convocation. Wasn't a good name in 1982 and it isn't now either.

We can hope a corporate sponsor with deep pockets steps up.

I commend the Battle family for their donation! However, I hope that there is someone out there who donates a sum that would be enough for naming rights to the basketball floor or arena. $500k shouldn't be enough from one donor to command naming rights on a project that must have $12 million in private funds committed before construction can begin.

Not trying to suggest that it is, just that it'd be a great combo with his last name being battle. I agree $500k isn't enough to name the court after you.
