Sling app
Thinking of cutting cable/satellite cord. Does anyone know if sling has sports chan option that would allow me to see Memphis bball and football games? That's the only thing holding me up from doing it.

depends on the channels. Espn is included and they added fox sports and fox sports south.

RE: Sling app
I cut the cord a long time ago. Yes, you can watch Tiger events carried by the ESPN family of channels on Sling. I was unable to watch any CBS sports broadcasts unless they were carried over the air, no Cable or satellite.

I no longer use Sling. I purchased a Nexus player (its Android TV) and downloaded the KODI app from the Google pay store (its free).

I now watch ANY sporting event for FREE!

p.s. bought it at Walmart for around $50. NOT THE CHROMECAST! THE NEXUS PLAYER!!!!! (looks like a hockey puck).

KODI is free and KODI is legal until you install all of those plugins.

So if you want to stay between the lines I wouldn't go this route.

CBS all access is a $5.99/month service direct from CBS. There is an apple TV app.

You can try it for free for a week:

note that we often appear on the "cbs sports app" (apple TV and roku and several others) and that I would check to make sure your CBS all access credentials work on the CBS sports app for streaming tiger games

RE: Sling app
I'm a sling user and have been since their first week (I was a beta invitee prior to it going national).

Major bumps early, many fewer now. They've gotten their sea legs for the most part.
I like the service.

at $20, you get ESPN 1/2
at $25, you get ESPNNews, ESPNU, and SEC as well.

The Fox Sports option is currently a separate base as I understand.

You're a few seconds off live in practice.

I like the service a great deal.

I rarely watch anything on tv unless it's sports. My question is will I be satisfied cutting the cord and going with Apple TV sling app?

Look at the channel lineup and see if it meets your needs.

If the channels offered work for you and you are OK with the occasional glitch, then you are likely OK.

If you need channels they don't offer, then likely not.

Sign up for a free trial period or for a month before you get rid of cable or satellite. Make it a point not to watch cable/satellite and see if it's for you. I don't think there are any contracts with sling.

No streaming setup will get you decent PQ and good streaming and get you all the Tigers games. The All Access is one of the worst streaming sites out there and it buffers on my Comcast Blast Internet at 125 MBps.

I stream via Roku devices and have the Sling app. I was using the Roku 2 and occasionally had some buffering issues. I put a Roku TV in the bedroom and had no buffering issues so I replaced the 2 with a 3 and that semms to have solved the issue.

As for the packages I recently dropped the full ESPN coverage and will add back once FB starts back. I added the Fox beta package hoping to get some Cards games down here but being so close to Atlanta they black out a lot. The Sling ESPN subscription does allow the ESPN go so I can watch games on my phone or tablet during my daughter's soccer games.

One other thing about Sling - the base subscription only allows one viewer at a time so no multiple TV's with it on unless you pay for additional streams.
