UCF lands 4 star Small Forward Myles Douglas

Good get for Johnny Dawkins
On Tuesday, the Knights struck with their first big prep commit from the area in Myles Douglas, a small forward from Baltimore playing at Virginia's Paul VI Catholic High School.
Douglas, who visited several weeks ago, has an impressive offer list that also includes Penn State, Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, West Virginia, Temple, USC, Miami, Maryland, Richmond, Hofstra, Rutgers and Delaware State.
UCF assistant coach Kevin Norris had previously offered Douglas while he was on staff at USC.

Our two 2017 recruits are pretty impressive. We are ranked in the top 15 for 2017 so far.

East Coast, especially DC area, where Dawkins is from...plus up/down the coast where he recruited for Duke for so many years will be key.
Dawkins went the transfer route in his first class that he had just a few weeks to build but its great to see him target high quality HS recruits (so far) in Year 2 with both recruits from large recruiting areas (DC and Atlanta).

Early Basketball Signing Period starts on Nov 9th...and it seems that percentage wise...hoop players change their commitments even more so than football players...so with so many P5 teams in battles with Dawkins...I hope they all end up signing with UCF come Nov 9th.

Donnie was the king of big commits that never stepped foot on campus.

I think that Tacko is going to be a big draw for recruits as well. Having the opportunity to play with such a big, athletic, guy, is exciting.

Big? Absolutely.
Athletic? For a guy his size, sure... but not compared to some shorter guys.

Got to see Tacko live this year when UCF came to Philly. He is strong and athletic, and moves well. He will need to lower his fouls, so he can stay on the court. UCF BB is trending up.

He doesn't get back down the court after the UCF turns over possession (via a TO or a basket) which leaves the defense vulnerable for a few seconds each defensive possession. That's exactly where Tulsa took advantage of UCF.

True. But I'm hoping with more conditioning he'll clean that up.

He was a true freshman playing under Donnie Jones, acclimating to D1. Tacko is going to be scary with years under his belt, with a coach that has NBA experience. Dawkins tried to get Tacko to come to Stanford. I think he has a few more wrinkles planned for Tacko's game. He's well ahead of schedule as far as I've seen.
