Say what you want about Bush, he has always had the back of those who serve.

It is unconscionable that Obama had the nerve to lecture the police at a memorial for which 5 of them died in the line of duty. He is a sick, sick man.

Obama is a disgrace. I mean he doesnt know when to stfu. His arrogance is astonishing.

I mean... Really, what kind of worthless piece of trash uses this as an opportunity to race grandstand and then says this.... "None of us is entirely innocent (of racism). No institution is entirely immune, and that includes our police departments."

I heard the end of the speech.. it made a ton of radio soundbites.

but I agree... 41 frickin' minutes???? Why? To chastise cops some more for being "insensitive" or something?

Remember....100% of the time when someone says "we need a dialogue" what they mean is "I'm going to lecture you."

I didn't watch it, but 40+ minutes for anyone to stand and speak if you're not a professor cannot be any more narcissistic. Especially when I heard that he wrote it himself.

There is a time a time and place for the lecture Obama gave. However, the service for the police officers was not the time nor the place.

Seems to me like he spoke highly of the officers and mentioned them by name at least twice. Spoke highly of police overall, and the Dallas department and Mayor specificially. Made 1 comment about guns. Condemned the person who did the shooting as a vicious killer and motivated by racial hatred. It really wasn't a bad speech at all, maybe a little long and preachy but that's his thing.

I suspect if President Obama had said the exact same things that fmr President Bush did, it would still have been chopped up and spun negatively by some.

a speech at a memorial should be about those people that the memorial is about, not about politics, but oblunder does this all the time, uses speeches like this for political gain. I am not surprised at all.

FWIW, the current President should probably speak longer about current issues than an ex-President.

But this is another example in history's record that GWB is a fair, honest and compassionate man whom future generations will view positively.

He's spoken about this serveral times now. He has injected his political hack every ******* time. You would think that just one time he could refrain from doing that.

He referred to himself 45 times during the 41 minute speech.

Not the time or place to inject the BS that he injected. If he had left that out it would have been a decent speech.
