Most reasonable best-case scenario that I can see as of now: Respectable loss to Louisville, win against Wichita State or LSU, then a win against whoever in the 5th-place game (or a respectable loss to Michigan State if they get upset).

More likely it'd be two losses and (hopefully) a win against St. John's in the 7th-place game.

Tough conference schedule with two games against Rice, Western Kentucky and Marshall, and the Middle Tennessee/UAB road swing.

Virginia State is playing three exhibitions this season: ODU, Norfolk State and ... Duke. No relevance to anything, just thought that was odd.

It's usually a game before the tournament, though I don't think that's a hard and fast rule.

Last year was 2 at home and 2 in CT. The extra games need to be played within 2 weeks of the main games but can be before or after.

FGCU is playing Baylor as an extra game and Long Beach State is playing someone.

I think the four teams in the U.S. bracket -- FGCU, Long Beach State, two teams to be named later -- play two games at Atlantis opponents, then two games among themselves. I know FGCU is playing someone in addition to Baylor -- LSU maybe? I think Long Beach may be playing Louisville. I could be totally out to lunch on that though.

I wonder if Howard's one of the U.S. teams. They play at VCU on Dec. 27, and it'd make sense to have the same team play ODU and VCU as part of this.

Howard is in the Legends Classic and have to play at Michigan and Marquette + 2 games at IUPUI.

Scratch that, then. Maybe they won't announce it until they unveil the bracket. Could be that VCU is considered the Atlantis game for ODU but they'd still need a home game for VCU.

EDIT: Apparently the B4A bracket will be unveiled at noon today. I presume ODU will have to play Michigan State or Louisville in the first round.

If the ODU-VCU matchup is considered part of the Atlantis event, that would be smart if they are interested in adding another game (TBD) to the list I started with.

Does ODU have an in season tournament for 2017-18 yet? I thought they did but I can't find it.

Ah, that's right. A decent enough field with Maryland and Dayton, and if Auburn develops and Temple gets back to normal, it could be a very strong group. Whereas this year has a big gap between Villanova and the rest of the field.

It used to be HDNet until a few years ago. I think it's Mark Cuban's channel?

Dang. I don't get that channel (Comcast). maybe espn3 will show it since they are getting some of the other games.

The VCU game is Dec. 10, so it'll avoid not only the football regular season, but the CUSA title game should ODU make it.
