Things are slowly starting to be checked off of the list but still a very long way to go to. Behind the scenes things are always nice but would love to see some facility upgrades get underway. Unless I overlooked it according to the checklist facility talk won't get started until next you though.

I fell asleep half way through the checklist. I was encouraged by one thing though. It looks like they have decided to improve their Title IX position by adding women sports and not cutting men's sports. With wrestling and track being the most likely cuts its good to know they are not thinking that way.

RE: "Gameplan" Scorecard
Sorry, but I see the snow job coming. The plan is very complex and way too much repetition and verbiage. Simply put, we need a near full stadium for each football and basketball game. They are the two sports that everyone uses to gauge the success of a athletic program. This may be sad, but it is true. If that goal is reached, it will show that the department is healthy in most other areas. Spectators are looking for superior talent, play and coaching that leads to winning. It does not take a 5 page, 75 step program to achieve the objective.

Your 100% correct about what has to happen. Some schools have a third program that can help (Iowa and wrestling, Connecticut and women's basketball, etc) but we obviously don't. I worked at TRW for 13 years and I remember having to put together 5 year plans every year (we couldn't project sales for 5 months but the powers to be still thought it was worth it). One time they wanted a 30 year plan!! That is what this 75 step program reminded me of. Something you put together and promptly forget about. What are the odds of Nielsen being around in 2023 when the next women's sport starts?

Yeah - if you give me 10 tasks to do, I might get 8 done. If you give me 75 tasks to do - I might get 5 done.

It's almost the end of summer and things from spring are still not crossed off. Smoke & mirrors.

They won't start til mid November. They have to worry about Joel's top priority which is football. Joel won't be around to see this plan to completion.

With the annex now soon to be opened and in full use does that move the renovations to the MACC forward?

The Plain Dealer just happened to have an update today. Still moving through the courts. The new coach was added to the lawsuit saying Oakley kept her from saying anything bad about Linder. No criminal charges have been filed as of yet. The article was written by Karen Farkus at Cleveland.com if you want read more.

Well my question was semi answered today. Architecture firms will be contacted in the next couple months to get plans for the renovation to the MACC.

"Two other areas that have received considerable attention are the basketball/volleyball practice facility, and renovations to the competitive M.A.C. Center arena. Our fans and community members will be excited to hear about our renovation plans for the M.A.C. Center. We will be able to unveil some of those plans later on this year. Those renovations could include floor replacement, seat replacement, and alterations to the fan experience, with their ability to navigate and enjoy larger public areas for concessions. We want a more modern and accessible take on the classic building -- updating sight lines, hospitality and VIP areas. We expect to contract an architectural firm in the next 60 days to begin more specific work on these areas."
