CFN Top 128 - MAC school rated as high as I can ever remember
At end of year when CFN reranks the MAC champion (usually involves preseason ranking of 80 and post season between 25-40 haha), they usually give respect to the MAC. As we have seen the top MAC ranking is usually in the 60s in the preseason and often given little or no respect. This year WMU has a preseason ranking of 39, and CFN is as high on a MAC team going into a season that I think I can ever remember. Huskies 2nd in MAC at 59. He does have the Aztecs as #23 and South Florida at #38.

Jordan Lynch team after the Orange bowl should have been top 25.

CFN even mentions WMU could go 12-0, really shocked to see them give a MAC team that much praise.

Members of this board fall all over themselves mocking WMU, however has anyone actually considered that they might be as good as advertised this season.

I hope they are. This will be a down season for NIU, so it will be good if the MAC has a team that is in the mix for the G5 bid.

Coach Fleck probably only has one or two more seasons in Kalamazoo before he leaves for a big time coaching job. Coach Carey probably only has one or two more seasons before he leaves to sell cars at CarMax.

After that, the WMU talent pipeline will quickly close, NIU will get their program back on their feet with a new coach, and order will be restored in the MAC. The Huskies will reclaim their position as the alpha dog. Until that time, though, lets hope that PJ and WMU can bring in that big payday to help out all the MAC schools.

The one thing these writers dont talk about or contemplate is injuries. I am not wishing injuries on anyone, but they are part of the game and a few of them at key positions for most college football teams will mean losses. This has been the story at UT for a bunch of years in recent memory. Pretty darn tough to go 12 and 0.

That's because a certain media star coach gave the CFN raters a wet kiss on the cheek.

The Dog Fan rating service just predicted that Eastern Michigan could go 12-0 this year. And I can guarantee you that no one from EMU kissed my, um, cheek.

This is the year that PJ will have to prove to potential future employers if he is like Nick Saban or is he like Ron Zook. Can he recruit and mold those players into a championship team or is he just a good recruiter.

At Toledo, Saban was hired in December of '89 and took a 6-6 Rockets to a
9-2 season and a MAC Co-Championship. PJ is no Saban.

CFN has no clue. If they think WMU is really good, then WMU will probably suck.

They didn't beat us when Lynch was QB.

I'm waiting for him to get over-promoted to drive this point home.

To be fair, Saban is pretty unfair comparison, ha.
