Exclamation Toughest game this year- USF, SDSU, or WMU
Even though it's at home, in my opinion, it's SDSU. I wonder how their fan base feels about this matchup.

I think we win 30-27 04-rock

I think if we come out of those games 1 - 2, we'll be lucky.

RE: Toughest game this year- USF, SDSU, or WMU
Massey has NIU at 7-5 this year, and according to Massey here is NIU's schedule ranked most difficult to least difficult along with the projected early point spreads

1t. @ South Florida, 30% chance of a win, Bulls by 7
1t. vs Toledo, 30% chance of a win, Rockets by 7
3. @ Western Michigan, 35% chance of a win, Broncos by 6
4. vs San Diego St., 37% chance of a win, Aztecs by 5
5. vs Bowling Green, 38% chance of a win, Falcons by 4
6. vs Central Michigan, 54% chance of a win, Huskies by 2
7. @ Ball State, 70% chance of a win, Huskies by 7
8. vs Buffalo, 73% chance of a win, Huskies by 8
9. vs Western Illinois, 73% chance of a win, Huskies by 9
10. @ Kent State, 75% chance of a win, Huskies by 10
11. @ Wyoming, 82% chance of a win, Huskies by 14
12. @ Eastern Michigan, 87% chance of a win, Huskies by 17

If I see a glimmer a hope here, it would be that of the 6 hardest games to win, only 2 are on the road, that might bode well.

Kind of interesting, CFN came out with their MAC preview yesterday and have Wyoming upsetting the Huskies. Also like these projections in that NIU is not a double digit dog in any game, although I think by the time a few of the games roll around iike USF and WMU, NIU might be flirting with double digit underdog status.

If we end up 7-5 then Carey needs to be shown the door.

I agree, SDSU is likely to be the toughest.

No way SDSU is the 4th toughest game. And if we lose to Wyoming we'll likely lose at least 6 other games.

All depends on how strong Hare is when he returns, and if our offensive scheme can consist of more than 3-4 plays now that Cole is gone.

USF is going to give the D all they can handle. Three of the ten best offensive players in the AAC this season are projected on USF. USF is loaded with high end recruits and big time athletes.

Based on how they finished up last year, I'd put USF 2nd, after SDSU. Both games will be tough to win.

Carey should of been shown the door after the Poinsettia Bowl.

SDSU and South Florida will be the best teams we face.

The Boat Rowers and Rockets 2nd tier compared to the Aztecs and Bulls.

The more I look at these opponents and our MAC schedule, the more I think we end up 5-7, especially with the uncertainty of Hare and our penchant for injuries.

I am struggling with this coming season. How does Hare come back and new coordinators? It may take a few games but I think the team will come together and we will be very strong by mid-season and after.

Flowers was so so until he got all the playing time and he now runs their offense superbly. Marlon Mack is the best runner the Huskies will see and he will be a first round NFL pick. Taggart has cleaned up the Holtz mess and will out coach Rod. I have a bad feeling that this will be a blowout by +28 pts.

I sure hope not. I think our team is good enough not to get blown out by any team! The coaches and players need to bring and keep it together!

How in the hell is Toledo favored over us? They have a new head coach and starting QB. Same with BG except for the coach. I think we win both of those.

My prediction is 10-2. Losses to USF and WMU

Yea, that makes no sense. Also, we play Toledo at home. BG lost Matt Johnson and a bunch of other offensive weapons. That is also a home game.

Probably Toledo is favored because it's a neutral site game. We lose the home field advantage since the game is not at home.

Oh that's right, forgot about that. On the other hand, we've beaten them a number of times in a row, the last time with a backup QB. And they're replacing their QB and lost a bunch on defense. Although we don't seem to play well at neutral site games so maybe that's it.

The Huskies will lose to Wyoming. Laramie is the creepiest place in America, the elevation is difficult, and Coach Carey was exposed last season. Our offense can't stretch the field, and we don't have the talent on the offensive line that we once had to make these sweeps and screens effective.

SDSU, WMU, and South Florida will all be blowout losses. NIU can't match up with any of these teams. The Huskies will split the other eight games, so it figures to be a four win season.

I believe I'm stating what most people kind of fear is going to happen but are afraid to say. We had a nice run of dominance, and it was certainly fun to have been a part of it.
