The states in the central plains have a unique geography, which makes them particularly unsuited - geographically speaking - for conferences that are mainly based in the Eastern or Western part of the country.

Sure, Texas can afford to fly chartered and commercial flights for ALL of its (relatively few) teams, to ALL conference games. Maybe they'd double/triple their travel budget, and it wouldn't matter that much.

But why do that when they have the perfect set-up now???


They're going to milk every last cent out of their current Big 12 set-up. They're not going anywhere, until it's clear that set-up is dead.



Now granted, the title of the thread is just Oklahoma. But NebFan knows that getting the Big Ten to pick up yet another low-research, non-AAU, low-population state flagship from the Big 8 is a non-starter. So he knows he has to somehow force Texas into the deal to make it go through.

Without Texas, his dream is dead.

MPLS and Nebfan, both of you keep the personal attacks off the thread. Take it to the VAA!
