Interesting hire. I will be curious to see how this plays out. In the business world, I have enjoyed working with, as they coined it, "out of the box" hires for leaders in administrative positions.

Some of the most innovative people I've worked with have diverse backgrounds that didn't necessarily follow a straight and narrow path to their positions.

At the very least, it seems that this guy has unparalleled passion for Orange athletics. Although that certainly wouldn't be a requisite characteristic for my hire as an AD for a university - it's kind of nice, don't you think? In this day and age where we sense everyone their eye on their next opportunity, Syracuse probably has found a guy that will retire with an orange sweater on, should he prove successful.

It would be kind of like if NIU hired MadDawgz to be their next AD after Frazier bolts for greener pastures. No one would ever doubt MD's devotion to the red and black.
