espn3 schedule

All of our games except our first one (BAMA A&M) are on ESPN3.

What is the difference between ESPN3 and WatchESPN ? I thought they were the same .......

I was hyped to see the games there but several Twitter comments tempered that enthusiasm. Could just be an error by ESPN.

Yeah, it looks like we should be skeptical about this for the time being. It looked (s) promising though.

I think it is an error because the FAU-Rice games says ESPN3 on the FAU schedule, but not on the Rice schedule.

Also, our administration stated that they were upgrading all our video equipment to meet ESPN3 standards, so for us to have no games would be surprising to say the least.

It has to be an error...WKU's schedule they have La. Tech game on CBSSN and ESPN3, we know that will not be the case...Also we play FIU on Bein, however ESPN lists ESPN3 for this game as well....I doubt every game will be on ESPN3, but probably most will since we have our own student production and have plenty of experience with ESPN3 in the past...

Update: Speaking of which, most of the ESPN3 games now removed from schedule:

Wow so that includes zero ESPN3 games?

Sigh. It's what I expected. Discussed on the digital thread, but I guess I was being too cynical. No one replied.

This is really, really bad if true. And it also makes that "fantastic exposure" soundbyte a complete lie.

I just want to remind our CUSA brethren that the Atlantic Sun conference has every single MBB game on ESPN3, in HD.

We apparently cannot even get our football games on there.

Please, please correct this situation and shut me up about this, CUSA. I'll happily eat crow.

The linked article from late May in the Virginia Pilot mentions espn3 a lot. Seems we were led to believe that espn3 AND OTHER streaming networks would carry a lot of our games. May still be true but I'm thinking that the other streaming networks will be where the bulk of them land.

Why do many of you expect the ESPN3 news to be false? Seems the story changes every day and I haven't been able to keep up. Did someone retract the info?

Bottom line to this is ESPN agreed to do 15 ESPN 3 games. Those have all apparently been selected.

For schools that have the capability to produce their own content, ESPN will also make those available. Apparently, only a few of us have that ability.

Kajun, to answer your earlier question Watch ESPN is the hub for accessing all ESPN content online. You can get main ESPN as well as all of the ESPN family including ESPN 3 broadcasts through the Watch ESPN platform. Think of it as the online repository for all of their broadcasts. So, if you are on your phone or using ROKU or Ipad or whatever you can get it all via the Watch ESPN app.

Yes we know that A-Sun and other conference has every MBB and some FB games on ESPN3. Even though it's HD, it's camera works are poorly done. Some BB games I have watched have like 1 cam in middle following the whole action. CUSA will have a different better version in my opinion because of the new contract. It will be made for TV streams as I see it. At least 3 to 4 camera will be used from different angles.

If this Espn3 stream thing is true and some who are saying that the games will be in other channels, espn3 will do a blackout in those markets the way I see it.

Thanks,

So you think all of the MT games (sans Bama A&M), as shown on the ESPN schedule, will indeed be shown (away games is what I'm interested in, of course) ?

I would think not having our games shown anywhere would hurt recruiting.

I don't know. ESPN has now removed those if you go look at the schedule on their site. I assume the league and teams are still trying to figure out the nuances. My best guess is all home games will be available on 3 at a minimum and the away games will depend on one of two things 1) is the game already being picked up by ESPN or one of the others and 2) if it's not does the other school have the ability to produce thus be eligible for ESPN3. Right now it would appear to be only those five schools mentioned in the OP that have the ability to do that.

So, just guessing here, but home games will be
A&M - ESPN3
La Tech - ASN
wkcc - ESPN3
UTSA - ESPN3
FAU - ESPN3

Away Games...
Vandy - SEC Network
BGSU - ESPN3
North Texas - No soup for you
Missouri - SEC Network
FIU - We're sorry. Thanks for playing
Marshall - ASN
