Homeless UM
So with Dolphins stadium being renovated this offseason and with more reports of the stadium could be way behind schedule UM could be looking for places to play at the beginning of this season.

The Dolphins are already playing a Preseason game at FAU which is pretty cool.

http://mia.247sports.com/Bolt/Dolphins-n...n-46104978

Now according to this article UM might be playing their home opener against FAMU at FAU.
I don't know how true this because we open at home September 3rd as well and the reporter could be mixing up FAU and who opens on a Thursday.

I don't know how I feel about letting UM play on our field.
On one hand It would generate some revenue and it would be funny seeing UM play a Home game with ''Florida Atlantic'' Painted in the endzone.
On the other hand it seems weird to get your student fired up for football season then boom the first gameday of the year is a school you directly compete against for headlines/fans in south Florida hosting on your campus.
Part of me would want UM to kick rocks and laugh as the big bad ''scUM'' is homeless week 1.

What are your guys thoughts?

Seems like found money in this era of less for TV, might be a windfall for FIU, Florida Atlantic and makes you good guys for sharing. Win-Win.

If Ole Miss or Moo U needed a stadium to play in, I'd tell them to F*** off.

As great as that would be it could hurt any potential 1-1 2-1 series with UM.

I would take LSU's check to the bank and laugh all the way.

RE: Homeless UM
Falcons @ Fins preseason game will be in Orlando at the Citrus Bowl Stadium (its on the website), not in Boca. The final preseason game is Sept. 1st vs Titans, maybe that is the game he is suggesting could go to Boca? Would be great for the Hooters, Dolphins had a scrimmage at FIU last season that got a lot of eyes on our stadium. A lot of folks liked the layout, some tweeted it would be a good setup for the 'canes. If they thought that about FIU stadium they would surely go gaga over FAU's palace.

UM and FAU season openers are on the same day so unless you guys are planning a double header, one would have to change the date. Since it is Coach Richt first game, I would think they would want to keep it Saturday for the expected "new coach" buzz.

Maybe MT's Kevin Byard (current Titan) can get a couple of more interceptions in Schnellie Stadium 04-cheers

As I was reading the thread that's what came to my mind....we'll let you use our field for a nominal fee AND we want a 2-2 contract with games 1 and 3 at FAU with a buyout of $2.5 million per game in the series to keep them from trying to cancel the series after the first 2 games.

I think it would be good for FAU. You guys have much nicer facilities than Miami, truly have a beautiful facility. All you have to do is impress the right person or two, and chances are, some of those people will be at the game as Miami supporters.

Maybe some of the locals in Boca will make their first trip to the stadium and then realize how legit it is and come back. I think it's a win for you all.

For once I will agree with Flyhawk.

I'm just confused why they don't just relocate to the Citrus Bowl for the duration of the reno, though? Ever since they fixed that stadium up, its pretty nice. And it seats 70k vs 30k at FAU. Is it just because its out of town?

The "Canes" er, more like "Thunderstorms", could play on the Miami-Dade Correctional Facility's Prison yard and feel right at home.
