Not sure where the Grizz go from here with 3 guys tying up 90% of the payroll (only 2 of which are productive) ... gonna be tough.
Some believe this 90% narrative, it's a tired myth, just not true.
Gasol ($22.6M), Conley ($28.5M) and Parsons ($23.1M) salary in '17-'18 will be right at $74.2M. Grizz will be up against luxury cap line next year, just like past years, which is around $121M. So actually our big 3 salaries will be around 61% of total Grizz salaries.
Grizz are not that bad off with their roster salaries, almost every other team in NBA has salary they would love to dump.
Great post
We are not as hampered by Gasol, Conley and Parson's deals as portrayed by some in the media.

I hope so, but name any single contract that looks as bad as Parsons' ... I certainly can't think of one, unless we include baseball ... then I might be able to come up with a couple.

If Chandler doesn't get healthy, it's a moot point, it's the worst contract last year because it's a mid-tier max.
I think he gets healthy. So here are 6 contracts from last year that are worse than Chandler's, IMO. All of these guys either are not starters anymore only 1 year into their contracts, or are below replacement-level players.
Mahimi at 4 years/$64M. Evan Turner at 4/$70M. Bismark Biyombo at 4/$70M. Luol Deng at 4/$72M. Mozgov at 4/$64M. Bazemore at 4/$70M. Yannik Noah at 4/$72M.
And that's just last year's FAs. I'd rather swing big and actually try to get a good player like Parsons, than pay Biyombo or Turner or Noah $70+ million. Bazemore is the best of the bunch, but his PER is still only 11.5.

Good points Tig...our best hope at being a true competitor is CP getting fully healthy and back to his old production by playoff time. The window of making a deep playoff run gets smaller every year from here on out with Gasol aging. I think we may have seen his best season already. Conley on the other hand is entering his prime

I'm not sure Chandler's play will ever match his contract - I've given up on that.
But if we can get 14 points per game out of him and 40% from 3 on 5 attempts per game...I'd take that.
He's obviously gotta get healthy for that to even happen...but if he's able to do that, he's a great compliment on this team.
