Quote:A website called Cherokees Demand Truth From Elizabeth Warren says Americans ought to care deeply about such claims.
“America should care because they care when someone falsely claims to be a decorated military veteran. They care when someone falsely claims to be a recovering drug addict in a book passed off as the truth. And they care when someone falsely claims to be a survivor of the Jewish Holocaust. America cares about these things because America cares about integrity, honesty and fair treatment.
“Elizabeth Warren has not just stolen an ethnic identity that does not belong to her, but she has also personally benefited from it and harmed the integrity of the American ethos of advancement based on quality of work, not color of skin.”
The New England Historic Genealogical Society provided initial research that shows several members of Warren’s maternal family claiming Cherokee heritage. Warren’s great-great-great grandmother O.C. Sarah Smith, is said to be described as Cherokee in an 1894 marriage license application. The genealogical society gathered that information through a 2006 family newsletter and said the original application cannot be located.

Naw, she isn't going to be the VP and even then it would be a bad idea. Eastern NA's often don't have an overwhelming amount to NA DNA. They have been adopting into the tribe since the first sailors wrecked off shore. Given it goes back to one of her grandparents who was 1/2 NA or something like that she might not have that much DNA. NA is more about culture then DNA given how much they have been decimated over time.
Dawg, I personally believe you are one the more reasonable posters on the other side of the fence. Unlike many others, when you respond, I read it. However your posts this weekend are decidedly more partisan. Warren has claimed indian heritage and used it to advance her career. To vet such claims is fair game, and here you are already offering two opt outs.....one, that genetics for this coast are diluted and two, that nobody cares. This is below your normal standard. I'll guess I have to call you RedDawg until you return to your more rational and less talking-point postings.
But I am a partisan Democrat. I've never claimed otherwise. Warren isn't going to be the VP pick. I consider the two points I've made very rational and I don't recall anyone else pointing out my observation about NA genetics so I can't see it as a "talking point". It is based on my knowledge of the Lumbee and some research I've done on the subject.
The bottom line is that I think it isn't an effective political strategy for Trump. It is just an opinion but remember the old saying, "never swing down." Trump can't help responding to Warren when he should be concentrating on Clinton.
