The Braves and Marlins are playing a game tonight (on ESPN too) at a special 12,500-seat stadium constructed at the Fort Bragg military base. All the seats will go to military personnel and their families. It looks like from the video and photos that it's a nice stadium too, although I'm not sure if it's staying on the base or being dismantled - I do MLB paid entirely for it.

Nice gesture on this 4th of July weekend - sort of similar to some of the games you see occasionally in college basketball at military bases but this is even on a grander scale.

You're right, this is a really cool initiative. I enjoyed reading about it. I also happened to have the TV on during the pre-game stuff, and it has hooked me in.

I tweeted how much better MLB is with Manfred as the Commish. This game and the one in Cuba were done with the cooperation of the player's association...a huge plus for baseball. The NFL Commish is a joke and looks even more so when you see what MLB is doing.
