NIU playing Georgia Southern in the Camelia Bowl in Alabama

I'd welcome that game. Georgia Southern is no slouch team from the belt

I don't know if we'd do well against that kind of offense.

Or whomever is the third best team in the Sun Belt in 2016 is no slouch.

The Chameleon Bowl would be better than no bowl, and it would be an easy trip to make. Supposedly, it is MAC #3 vs Sunbelt #3 (that is always subject to change) and that would mean no MAC championship for NIU. I would like to think the 2016 Huskies are capable of going to a better bowl. Winning it? We'll see.

RE: SBNation bowl projections out
NIU needs a bowl win. Far too often we are given the toughest matchup of all the MAC teams bowling. We need a win to get our program back on the right track because we clearly, for whatever reason, cannot compete with other football teams that are having a good season that year. Blown out by Marshall and Boise State. Have a good team with Jordan Lynch and only put up 10 points against Utah State. A Sun Belt team is the closest thing we will get to a more sure bowl win.

Totally agree. Let's go with the good chance to win over the probable loss.

Totally agree also! If the coaches and players think the season is over after the MAC season is over (including hopefully the MACC), as would appear to be the attitude based on performances, they need to get rid of that attitude!

When it comes to bowl games, any team we play with 8 wins or more seems like an automatic L.
Carey and the team need to get their act together and win a bowl.

RE: SBNation bowl projections out
if we think our program is as significant in the national spotlight, then we better be willing to play the other top dawgs AND win. not just taking cake matchups just for the W. otherwise, we will always be PRETENDERS
