Coastal's been a significant player the last few years. They're sort of a Wichita/VCU of baseball. Cool to say them get over the top.

I believe they are moving into the Sun Belt next year. Their football team going from FCS to FBS.

Pretty sure they hadn't gone to Omaha in 20+ years. They may have been trending upward but hadn't done anything noteworthy as far as I know

Fair point- my brain over-estimated their standing. They're pretty much a fixture in regionals and that's been their ceiling. Thought they'd been in more super regionals.

I also found this to be pretty cool. As a west coast guy, I'm privy to how baseball crazy we are out here. Baseball is a much bigger deal out here than it is in other parts of the country. Kids play year round and club baseball flourishes. Our kids are better than the kids in other parts of the country because of it.
Accordingly, our local colleges should have advantages, yet Arizona (to be fair, wasn't all that well regarded) should be better then CC. But they weren't.
