tyndall tub o' goo spewing and crying now....
what a pos....

http://www.wdam.com/story/32351451/forme...ng-penalty

Quote:HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -
The name Donnie Tyndall should ring bells around Hattiesburg. He coached The University of Southern Mississippi men’s basketball team from 2012-14, ending in controversy involving misconduct that included academic fraud.

Tyndall is back in the news. This time he is fighting back at the NCAA's 10-year show cause penalty he received.

Tyndall is looking for a total reversal of the penalty or at least a reduction. His argument being the punishment doesn’t match with that of previous coaches such as Jim Boeheim at Syracuse and SMU’s Larry Brown.

Under the current show cause penalty, Tyndall won’t be able to coach at the NCAA level until April 7, 2026. If he is hired to coach after this, Tyndall will still have to sit out half of that first season.

I wouldn't dare defend his actions, but he has a point. However, he should amend his complaint when Roy Williams and UNC skate after decades of cheating.

I agree. If nothing else the case will point out what we already know, the NCAA has extreme bias in handing out penalties on similar cases.

While I don't agree with the tings that happened under Tyndall's watch he does have a point. Boeheim and Brown have both gotten slaps on the wrist for their actions. I expect Roy Williams to get a slap on the wrist as well even though the academic fraud at UNC was widespread. If the NCCA is going to let all of them off easy they should not have give Tyndall a 10 year ban.

correct....but if you understand politics.....well, UAB does....

regardless, he's still a pos just like all the media and the bammers....

that's the bottom line in me eye....

it's disturbing what our program has/is going through in relative terms to petrino/williams/etc.....

it's just fk'd up how worthless the ncaa hierarchy has become.....just po's

The difference is 1 coaches at a high profile school with multi national championships. The other coached at Morehead St (6 years), USM (2 years) and Tenn (11 months)... One coach is untouchable the other was in a place they could make an example out of with no real threat of retaliation.

This might be comparing apples to oranges but for Tyndall this wasn't his first time getting caught doing this. Same, or similar, thing happened at Morehead St. I agree there is bias when the NCAA hands out punishment but maybe being a repeat offender was cause for harsher punishment in his case

UNC is a repeat offender as well. And I'd weigh the length and the breadth of their infractions heavier anyway.

UNC in basketball is basically untouchable just as Alabama is in football. They both might get a stern talking to if the commit murder but that's about it.

Recent events confirm that it's true they are untouchable. However, what does that mean for everyone else? Not only are you playing under a different set of rules, but you will never be allowed to win anything meaningful. So why bother?

I hope the Tyndall thing blows up into a massive lawsuit against the NCAA. It won't, but it'd be great to see. They will significantly reduce his penalty.

Money talks and BS walks... Well in this case the BS talks too. Is it wrong, does someone need to find a way to blow the NCAA up, the answer to both is yes. But until that happens this is what we live with.

I blame our lack of leadership and vetting process.....that listen defines how much of a pos he is....it was disgusting listening to that one....

...and I fell for his shtick as a fan....however, that's not my job to do the vetting...he's a shylock through and through....he has nobody to blame but himself....that combination set our hoops program back to the abyss pre-Eustachy....

this town has it's set of problems like any other....

that ship has been righted now....time will only tell if/how we can bring back the rock-n-roll that the Yurt can provide.....Big Mac (our AD) has handled this one as best as one could have IMO....
