I heard today that Coastal faced a total of SIX elimination games during the NCAA Tournament this year. That is one never give up or quit bunch of players and coaches. Wow.

Wow! Great win for them. So satisfying to see a school like Coastal win it all over a team like Arizona.

This would be David vs. Goliath in many sports, but in baseball, Coastal was better this season and has been in recent years. They have a strong program. This is as good as they've ever done, but this isn't lightning in a bottle either.

Yeah, you're right. I know they have a great program. It is wonderful to see a team like them actually make it all the way.

Some of the other teams they beat to get here had better seasons and programs. They did what they had to do though, and those schools didn't. Great job!

Not only that, at one point they were down to their last stike against NC State before rallying to take that game and Regional.

They won while still in the Big South. Sun Belt has no claim to that title.

Yup, the Big South had all of 9 hours to celebrate having a national champ in their midst before the clock struck midnight and the Chants entered into the SBC. No doubt, it's the Big South's championship banner but all radio and TV commentators will be mentioning "defending national world series champs" all next year and most people will just assume they were in the Belt anyway.

Yep, very true. No matter how you look at it, what a great add for the SBC this is!

Then they will be misinformed and incorrect.

That is true. Are they in the process of moving to FBS or are they already?

Though they were officially brought in to the Sun Belt 8 hours later. Had they moved the final until Thursday night, and it stormed it out again; Friday could've conceivably had an official Sun Belt team claim the title.

Regardless, the reigning NCAA Champion baseball program belongs to the Sun Belt.

Semantics are fun.

Yeah man, they were hot.... darn near a team of destiny once they got in. Personally think them not getting to host a regional considering their record was what fueled their run.

I can sense some jealousy among some CUSA fans on here that the SBC now has a program that just won a D1 national championship. They can't stand the thought.

LOL.
