Troy Caupain Summer League
Just saw this on ESPN website....

Fran Fraschilla
@franfraschilla

Bearcat fans, Troy Caupain has done terrific job of leading & playing at @StephenCurry30 Camp. Should have great summer & big senior year.

Hopefully a positive sign for the upcoming season.

What does that mean? Is he coaching or playing at this camp? If he's playing, what are his stats and what kind of competition is he playing against?

They do a little of both. It's ostensibly for kids, but there are other players there helping to run the camp, and they obviously ball a little bit.

It's no coincidence he's at the Curry camp - Curry and UC are Under Armor. Noted that the kid who tweeted this week that he had committed to UC was on a UA team in his highlight vids. Also no coincidence. Shoe companies funnel these kids from their AAU affiliate teams into the universities they have apparel deals with.

We give Mick a ton of crap about recruiting, but besides the players that come with a dollar figure attached, he's also got to deal with the fact that the AAU scene is dominated by Nike.

Hopefully the recent UA popularity (largely driven by Curry) begins to pay dividends in UC recruiting. But this is still another aspect of the shameful state of college athletics. The decks remain stacked in the favor of a chosen few. UK, Duke, and UNC routinely clean up in the recruiting game. Nike schools.
