All I can say is that season ticket holders for all sports will really miss this gal! And when the softball team advanced, she was there with her in-game hosting too. But I can understand that after six years of FCS she wanted to more up to FBS. ( I tossed that in to perhaps give this thread some life.)

Well I have been holding off on talking about this for a number of reasons.
1. I knew about this a few weeks ago, since my daughter is one of the High Flying talented cheerleaders that you all got to enjoy watching and that Kelly has coached for the last 4 years. I was asked to not say anything until it was truly public.
2. This was a very hard pill to swallow since my daughter is returning to JMU for 1 more year (actually her 5th and her last eligible year). She and Kelly have been very close over the years. Needless to say
She was floored, but understood Kelly's reason for leaving.
Also to correct something that was said publicly by the administration in their release. Becca Wells is a 2 time All-American.
Yes, Kelly was one the Voices we all heard and loved to hear leading the JMU Nation, JMU has a solid Cheer program, no it's not the glamor and hype of Football or the Basketball Teams or even the Awesome Softball team, But a Force in thier own right. But the program has been a high profile program at their level among the schools they compete against, for the last 5 or 6 years earning their gold bids and Winning a National Championship (the year before Becca came to JMU) Having 2 runner ups (the year after and then again this past year) (needless to say many can argue the fact JMU should have won it this year,)(not going to talk about that right now)
Kelly's heart from the way I understand is with CCU because its closer to her home and she is an ALUM and where her roots are. BUT kid you not KELLY Bleeds
PURPLE.
Every game or event I was at especially the SMU game Kelly always spoke to us and had a great JMU positive attitude..
She will be missed.
Hopefully the new coach will continue in a similar tradition / path and keep the JMU SPIRIT going STRONG.
From what I understand there are a number of candidates but no decision has been made yet.
Whomever gets the job will need to recruit skilled cheerleaders if they are to maintain their level of excellence. Cause its not just waiving pom poms and chanting, they are athletes and put in hours of training so that we all can enjoy their high flying stunts and pyramids during games to entertain us and motivate us when the going gets tough.
GOOD LUCK KELLY, You will be missed.
