Arizona St and Texas St schedule home and home series for 2024 & 2025
This is a pretty good get. Surprised it wasn't mentioned.

ASU goes to San Marcos first in 2024.

Not a problem. We can use all the help we can get. Not a lot of exciting TXST stuff to talk about

Hey you guys have like 38 verbals before the Fourth of July. That should be plenty to talk about!

That's funny but not. Some of us are still trying to figure out the scholarship stuff. We had 29 seniors graduate (granted not all were on scholarship but most were) and 20 others from last years team not returning (including our young OL that passed); also not all on scholarship but way more than not.

Any scholarship scholars got some clues on how these can, can't be used?

Geez Louise. Y'all going to field a team this year or take a UAB?

We carry about 115 (at home) but that includes red shirts. We lost 49, so 66 left (including squad guys)
29 graduated
3 5th years graduated in May and decided to get on with life
1 passed
2 left due to recurring injuries
3 were dismissed
3 transferred
1 transfer decomitted
1 scholarship pulled
1 just quit football all together
5 quit/left team

It boggles who and where the scholarship have gone. Withers has picked up some players over the Spring (to now) but 4 of them are blue shirts. We're just trying to figure out where all these scholarships are going.

That's crazy. Man, not too much to look forward to this year I don't figure.

Personally I'm not too optimistic. It's going to be 2-3 years before we're somewhat decent again.

RE: Arizona St and Texas St schedule home and home series for 2024 & 2025
Through some Q&A and seeking info, I found out that we will have only 68 players on scholarship this season. We are in compliance on a 2 year rolling avg due to 83 last year but that is 74.5. Not a comfortable margin and not to mention that's really depressing to know.

It's our own personal sanction for how awful the team was last year. Worst display I've ever seen and couldn't be happier to be past the Fran era.

I will need someone to come to Corpus and drive me to this game. Nobody wants an old woman cursing all the way up I37 and I35 to get there on time.

Congrats to Texas State that is a good home and home and you get them first so it makes it difficult for them to back out of the deal.

Our beat writer did some interviews and inquiries about our scholarship situation. The article below explains a lot and now (as our UDD writer put it) has us at the same level as an FCS transitional 03-banghead

Analysis: Texas State football down on scholarships in 2016 after offseason filled with attrition

Neal Brown's first year at Troy was very similar and now moving into year two they have caught up some but are still about 7 short......Getting guys to blue shirt is critical for competition and future depth in such times.....All in all it shouldn't show as much as you would thing if the "culture" has improved with the new staff.Players simply work harder under effective leadership
