ODU actually won 8 out of its first 12 games against her, including the 1980 national championship game. But it was all downhill from there as ODU only beat her once after that. Overall record against Summitt was 9-36. Condolences to her family.

Talked to her a year ago in Brimingham, she was there to watch her son's team play in the CUSA-T. What a class act. She had a lot of respect for Old Dominion and our former coach. She was still doing ok. May your family take peace in knowing that you had such a great impact to women's basketball.

Sad day for women's basketball. She was a class act and I don't think we will see another like her at all. Win or lose, I was always grateful for the opportunity to play Tennessee every year. Every school wants to play Tennessee. But because Summitt valued tradition she made sure that we were on the schedule. For the chance to play the best...even when we weren't the best...I can't thank her enough.

I have to give her credit for keeping Old Dominion on her schedule long after we were relevant.
