I'd kill to have that much developable land around Marshall.

Its certainly a good thing. The Joan is pretty much up to the roads on both endzones, isnt it? I know the endzone facility was right at the road, I didnt see the other end when I was there.

It's right up to a McDonalds and Wendy's so yea there isn't much room.

I've only been to five stadiums of current CUSA teams. But the Sun Bowl wins quite easily among them.

I guess depending on the criteria, any stadium could have a claim to being one of the best. I chose the Alamodome because it was designed to be a NFL stadium so Im guessing that it has more amenities than any other.

Well Cincy and UConn is former BCS, understandable they would have it, Houston and Maybe ECU is the only other ones with ECU needing to severely upgrade suites and press box to be in that conversation although the rest is very nice and P-5 like. The rest is no better than those in CUSA, MAC, Sunbelt or MWC, even NAVY (this one is debatable though). Tulane's new stadium while nice is not P-5 comparable. Only 30K capacity.

Ugh.

Something that could connect the two sides.

By the time you guys would likely break ground on such a project, your video screen will be obsolete so that is not an obstacle. If you wanted to salvage the board, you just raise it up and place it on top of the new seats. That would make the view better for those in the rest of the stadium.

RE: Best Stadium in CUSA?
By the end of this season I will have been to all CUSA stadiums except La Tech and UTSA. I will not count Marshall since it is my home stadium. Of the others I pick FAU as #1. For overall atmosphere I pick USM. WKU was ok just too darn small and no way could I get anything to eat there. The lines were unreal. I just waited and stopped along I-65 after the game.

There are at least 15 different places to get food at Western's stadium.....each of those having two or more windows. I guess you only tried the one closes to the Marshall fans? I've heard it's worse up top...I wouldn't know. But you would not be the first to complain if that were the case.

But in my experience waiting till halftime to go get something to eat will probably lead to long lines everywhere. One other thing Western is probably lacking in the number of what I call "stadium food"...hotdog/hamburger/pop corn/fries/coke. Can't have a upgraded list of places/things to eat and still have 15 stadium food outlets.

But if you really wanted something to eat you had the whole 2nd half ...after kickoff to get it. Really wouldn't have missed any action you really cared to see 04-jawdrop

Most stadiums that I been to in SBC/CUSA are mostly stadium food

The only stadiums I haven't watched a Western game in in person is UTEP, Charlotte, Texas-San Antonio, UAB, and North Texas. The only ones I haven't seen in person is UTEP and UNT.

As far as rating them ....I'm not a big fan of dropping a stadium in a hole in the ground then a erector set around it. Or a erector set without some type of brick. block, concrete enclosing it so you don't see the "erector set".

One thing can change that (for me)...LOCATION. So with that FAU on location only would be my pick out of the stadiums I've seen a Western game

I liked the old style look at ODU but hated our seats and the seating arrangement in the stadium...which is changing.
