Off topic, Buddy Ryan died also.

Such a shame. Tons of class and a lot of success. She and Kay Yow were cut from the same cloth. RIP coach.

She was just in Murfreesboro in February to watch her son, and she looked good, I thought.

I was there -- I thought she seemed distant at best. Physically she seemed a bit off (wobbly) and I couldn't be sure if she was really aware of what was all going on. I really, really hate(d) to see this happen to her. Horrible disease and very disheartening. RIP, Coach Pat. Our women's basketball program -- and pretty much every other one around the country -- wouldn't be where it is today, had we not had a pioneer like Pat Summitt.

No, she didn't really know what was going on.

But her physical appearance was good.

I think she probably contacted an infection in her care facility

WKU had some good matchups too with UT back in the day....We did not win many but certainly remember the few we did win against Summit...

not really, Techsters played ODU some but never to the level of the Lady Vols

There was Old Dominion, La Tech, Stephen F Austin, Delta State, then Tenn, etal who started college womens basketball. Tennessee pulled away from the rest of the pack as it became popular and attracted the higher profile schools. Schools like UCONN have moved in to take their place.

Tech lost to ODU in the very first national championship game that we ever played in. Back then, we had no bigger rival than ODU.

You can't deny the on and off the field results she got while at Tennessee.
