That's a separate point, but nonetheless I think it's correct.

Big Ten conf games and post season games won't be stifling hot. So why not deny that temporary advantage southern schools can achieve against northern schools with early non-conf games in the south? And so, I eagerly encourage all northern schools to reject playing in the south, in the early part of the season.

But that's just my personal opinion.

As long as it's h/h, the advantage goes the other way the next season. Anyone, anytime, anywhere should be most contenders mottos.

*Anytime with the caveat that teams schedule smart. I don't mean in regard to Sept/November games but in regard to player safety and not playing like a Thursday game followed by a Monday game, etc.

You're probably right. Most, if not all, neutral observers would likely cheer against Penn State for the crimes that took place there. It is still five years away but it will take a long time for the feelings to subside.

It should be a good match up and I'm looking forward to it. Well done to Auburn and Penn State for making this work.

It will take at least one generation, maybe two before the first thought association goes away.

We know where Happy Valley is and we don't shower there.

That's probably a good idea.

Do SEC football players take showers? ;-)

(JK. I think Auburn and Vanderbilt players do. Not sure about Georgia and Bama. Pretty sure Tennessee players don't.)

Soob,

Except it doesn't (go the other way the next season). Unless the SEC team agrees to come up to Big Ten country in November. And even then, no guarantee that it will be very cold to the same extent that going down to SEC country in late August/early Sept will be very hot.

So, no reason to let them have that advantage. Unless it's an indoor stadium. Then fine.

I won't be watching, much less cheering. It's a sad comment on our honorless society that Penn State football continues to exist at all, and I'm disappointed in Auburn for having any interactions with that program of filth and shame.

Every university is nothing if not a large collection of individuals. Should the entire group, and the university itself, be punished for the actions of a bad actor?

Of course not.

Now let that be the end of it.
