Good. I like strong intersectional games.

CBS Sports: Auburn and Penn State schedule Home and Home
Something tells me the 2021 game will be on Fox and the 2022 game will be on CBS.

doubt it. 2021 would almost guaranteed be on ABC unless Fox wants to give up Ohio St/Michigan. And 2022 probably would be on ESPN(CBS does VERY few OOC SEC games).

Fairly good point. They did do one last year, but - and I had not realized this - it was the first OOC SEC game they did since 2009 (Florida vs. FSU). But back before then, they used to do about one per year, usually alternating FSU/UF and GT/UGA.

they're doing one again this year in week 1- UCLA @ Texas A&M. but that's definitely the exception rather than the rule.

This could be a good game, or a yawnfest.

Auburn is either awesome or awful. Penn State has been at best, mediocre the last 15 years.

But I guess it beats scheduling a hopelessly outmatched division 2 school.

These are the kind of inter-conference and intersectional games that the sport needs.

I seem to recall Penn State being better than mediocre in 2005 and 2008.

I'll believe it when it happens. We scheduled Penn State for a home and home back in the early 80's. They wussed on an opportunity to play Bo Jackson. It left us scrambling to find a replacement. But then that was Paterno.

Does Auburn know that Pennsylvania isn't the south? They probably heard that Pennsylvania is made up of Pittsburgh in the west, Philadelphia in the east, and Alabama in the middle and then got confused.

We know where Happy Valley is and we don't shower there.

And the type the ACC is going to end for the football schools with the 9th conference game.

Call me old fashioned, but this is the type of game that should be saved for bowl season.

Go ahead, gnash your teeth at me. Shake your fist at me. I say, stick to regional non-conf games at the start of the season, conference season the rest of the time, then big time non-conf games for bowls.

Plus, why give the SEC an advantage of making a northern team play down in the heat early in the season?? Hopefully it will be a night game. But, zero reason to give them that advantage.

Hell, most of college football fandom will be Auburn fans for that game. I know I will be.

Booo! This is exactly the type of game that college football needs. We still have a beauty contest to see who makes the 4-team CFP. The more P5 v. p5 OOC games, the better.

So, Big Ten teams can schedule northern Big 12 and ACC teams.

Save big time games like Big Ten vs PAC, SEC, southern Big 12 teams as prizes for bowl viewers. My $0.02.

oh boo hoo. Just because OOC games are in September means can't have home and homes because it's warm in the south? Are you really serious?
