Some of you may know what a pod cast is, some might not.
For those that have yet to be exposed to this type of media, think of it as a radio show you download (or stream) on demand. Perfect for your commute to/from work if you find local radio to be terrible. I go through many shows a week simply walking my dog.
These can be accessed via a podcast player you can download from itunes, the android store or even from individual websites.
Here's one of many sites that host multiple shows

Topics cover anything and everything you can think of.
As with other shows some are great some are not so great.
Economics, Football, Cars, Starting a company, politics,
I am currently listening to a show
produced by Radiolab about American Football. I'm enjoying them talk about the history of football and figured I'd share it with you.
Some shows/topics that I have enjoyed are
Hard Core History - Dan Carlin
http://www.dancarlin.com/hardcore-histor...-kings-ii/
Pretty epic discussions about historical events. Shows come out every few months due to the sheer amount of research he does. The last 7 or so episodes are free to access. The WWI series was just amazing.
Common Sense - Dan Carlin
http://www.dancarlin.com/common-sense-ho...ding-page/
Dan's other show. It's a discussion on current events political show that asks some pretty good questions. Leans sort of libertarian, but that isn't really quite correct either.
99% Invisible
http://99percentinvisible.org/episodes/
I love this show. Topics cover all sorts of stuff.
Fish Cannons, Tall towers, How War changed the US diet, Flags etc..
Freakonomics Radio
http://freakonomics.com/
From the authors of the Freakonmics books / movie comes a show where 1 sometimes 2 economists talk about a particular issue and how it effects the common person, it's origins and all sorts of neat info about a topic.
NPR has a BUNCH of shows
http://www.npr.org/podcasts/
Too many to talk about. Some shows are just the same show that is played on the radio, other shows are unique for podcasts.
Sampler

Think of this show as the sample platter. It's a show about shows. Helps you find some hidden gems.
Surprisingly Awesome
https://gimletmedia.com/show/surprisingly-awesome/
These two guys find topics that are boring to some but talk about them to hopefully make you think of the topic as interesting.
I personally enjoyed the Mold and Adhesives episodes. I'm sure some of you would rather listen to the Free Throws episode.
TED Talks
http://feeds.feedburner.com/tedtalks_audio
Pod cast variant of the very popular TED Talks. Many episodes are just the audio from the podcast, others are mixes of several shows to cover a topic. TED Talks cover anything and everything you can think of.
The Message
http://themessagepodcast.com/episodes/
Think H.G. Wells' War of the Worlds Radio show and your sort on target
ContraKrugman
http://contrakrugman.com/
Economics show that exists to dispute everything Paul Krugman has to say regarding economics.
I've only listed a few that I enjoy. Hopefully some of you might try this new format out and find something you like.
Please share any other shows that you think people would like to listen to.
