After seeing #25, I should've stopped clicking

Take a look at which teams are in the top 25 for the past couple of years. The vast majority of those schools will be in the top 25 in the next 10 years. Dumb premise for an article IMHO. If the author would have focused exclusively on which "rising star" team(s) of today that he/she believes will become a regular fixture in the top 25 of 10 years in the future, that would have made more sense. Stake out a claim that Appy St or Houston breaks out to become a perennial power in 10 years and defend it with logic. That is what an article like that should have targeted.

Well the top 5 took alot of thought.

LSU at 18 was comical as well

The top programs tend to stay at the tops decade after decade. You have some rising and falling but the real difference between the great programs and good programs is the great ones continue to return to the same place at, or near, the top.

How silly.

It is fairly simple to predict the better programs 10 years from now. Follow the money.

10 years ago nobody would have guessed Baylor would be a power, but look at them now... Okay, so they're about to go back to being Baylor, but you get my drift.

Same for Duke, not a power but still impressive improvement. There are a couple of schools that have the money and power to become a power if they wanted to.

SMU is one. The "Southern Millionaires University" has the money and prestige to make themselves a Top 25 team overnight. They have the fan support (maybe not in the stands but check out their tailgates) and money to do it just see their basketball program. They need to improve their football stadium even though it isn't that old it has been passed by TCU, North Texas, Baylor, and Houston in state since it has been built (A&M and UT have always been nicer). They need to do something similar to those stadiums. Also they could go out and higher and big name coach if wanted to just throw the money at them.

Georgia Tech is another. The are in Atlanta in a hotbed of talent. IMHO they need to drop the coach and the triple option and get a coach who can recruit the athletes to compete against Clemson and Florida State. Georgia Tech also needs to start playing more SEC than just UGA and dump the schedule fillers. The fan base has become dormant since the SEC has taken over the area. More games against their old rivals Tennessee and Auburn plus a game against Notre Dame and another SEC team here and there will get their fan base back.

Colorado is another program that could wake back up if it wanted to.

Louisville, Virginia, and North Carolina are programs to watch in the future.

IMO, GT has been winning because of the triple option, not in spite of it. The problem at GT is too high admissions requirements and too small academic offerings to support football players (not all of whom major in engineering!). Firing the coach would not fix any of that.
