I will start my own Diesel thread
Since Huskie Football Addict kindly asked me not to post in hers.
I believe I gave a perfectly viable solution to the problem of not raising enough funds to pay for Huskie Bob's insanely expensive thirty six inch statue.
This majestic statue is going to come in at a staggering $694.44 for each inch. So if you think about it, if you make a $50.00 donation, you have purchased .07 of an inch of statue!! Now that, friends, is money well spent!
Here are some things $25,000 could purchase:
6,527 boxes of Ol' Roy Beef and Cheese Flavored Dog Food
3,132 copies of Dog the Bounty Hunter, 2009-10 season
2,283 Snoop Dogg G-Pen Herbal Vaporizers
3,125 bottles of Mad Dog 20/20
Or a $25,000 donation to Tails humane society in Diesel's memory. Just a thought.
Look, I'm sure it's super important that Huskie Bob has a world renowned sculptor create this epic statue. The very first drunken student who takes a leak on it will surely be quite impressed with her credentials!
I keep picturing the scene in 'This is Spinal Tap' when they got the proportions wrong on the Stonehenge stage prop and the tiny Stonehenge dropped down that was in danger of being trampled on by dwarfs.
The NIU school of art and design offers a graduate program in sculpting. Wouldn't it make sense if the school that Diesel represented created the sculpture of Diesel? It could be produced at a fraction of the cost and be created by NIU students. It could be a project that becomes relevant to current students instead of a bunch of washed up Huskie alumni like all of us.
I lay no claims to be an expert on sculpting, but come on...it's a statue of a dog. Is it really that important to have a seasoned, experienced and talented sculptor make it? I believe it's the spirit of the project that is important.
I understand that some feel it is blasphemous to be critical of this venture. However, as is often the case on this message board, I will be the voice of reason.

This website has plenty of things Vegas can spend money on instead of supporting a thing he doesn't like:
Amazon.com
Plenty of satisfying ways to spend any amount of money of Vegas' choosing.

Guys, we should listen to the voice of reason. I took his gambling tips, and now money isn't a concern for me....for I no longer have any.

No, that's too big. They wouldn't fit properly in the paper bags!
And Frisky...why are you worried about losing a couple of ten dollar parlays? I'm saving you 25K, for God's sake! I have your best interests at heart, my friend.
