2016 Grizzlies Draft Review
#17 - Wade Baldwin, PG from Vandy (Comp: Brandon Knight)
#31 - Deyonta Davis, C/PF from Michigan State (Comp: Tristan Thompson)
#35 - Rade Zagorac, SF from Serbia (Comp: Trevor Ariza)
#57 - Wang Zhelin, C from China (Comp: Jannis Tima lol)

As I've been saying for weeks, Baldwin was my favorite player in this draft. Im surprised he fell to #17 - think it's an absolute steal. Even when we re-sign Mike I think Baldwin will be our primary backup. Allows us to save money at that position.

Davis is a great VALUE pick and is somewhat of an insurance policy, long-term, for Marc's injury proneness

I don't know much about Zagorac, but most "experts" think he's a good pick. Sounds like a young, 6'8" kid that can shoot/score...sign me up.

We'll never see the guy from China.

All in all, think the draft was a major success. IMHO, we got 2 lottery picks and a potential role player.

Yeah, usually after a Grizzlies draft you kind of shake your head. Compared to other drafts I am overjoyed. Two really good players that fill needs.

What's the deal with drafting a guy like Timma and Wang that will never see the court? Is it that you have to draft someone and this way you can do it without spending any money? I'm not complaining just always intrigued me on what the upside is besides purely financial. Which I get BTW if that's the reason.

Draft and stash worked pretty well for Marc Gasol. Second round picks aren't so hit or miss (mostly miss) that you might as well get draft rights to some overseas dude.

You would expect Baldwin and Davis will both be rotation players this year. that's a win from a draft perspective.

True, but the expectation was the Jordan Adams, Jarnell Stokes and Jerrell Martin would be rotation players as well.

Time will tell on Baldwin and Davis.

The two draft and stash are nothing more than Chris Wallace getting to go on Vernon's show for another year and brag about having assets.

RE: 2016 Grizzlies Draft Review
CBSSports.com said Grizzlies had the best draft night of any team. Also said that the Serbian will definitely be an NBA player in a few years.

I'm pleasantly surprised in this draft. We got a shooter and a rebounder

Give the front office an A
