Abdel Nader drafted by the Celtics in the late 2nd round
Who would've ever thunk it... Nader in the NBA (will probably end up in the D-League, but still... He got drafted and VanVleet didn't)... Makes me wonder what he could've done for us if he stayed.

2nd round picks are not guaranteed a contract.

Very interesting that he was drafted but was never Iowa States star player. The NBA keeps getting weaker.

He was drafted at the end of the 2nd round. Those kind of players have never made an impact in the NBA on a consistent basis.

Don't be the "Back in my day the NBA was so much better and tougher, the Pistons used to play with knives on the court!" guy.

Amazed VanVleet wasn't drafted. Hell of a player.

VanVleet is slow, not a good shooter, small and isn't athletic. He was a great college player and team leader. Nader has size, strength and is very athletic.

I don't think either of the two is NBA material, but if I were starting a college team I would take VanVleet in a heartbeat.

Of course anyone would take VanVleet for a college team. Its not hard to see that Nader has much better NBA measurables in about every category over him though which is why he was drafted. There are many undersized guards who are stars in college who never amount to anything in the NBA or even get drafted. There are also plenty of guys who are not great in college but do much better once they reach the NBA and mature.

I may be misquoting but wasn't Nader getting recruited by Kentucky when he came to us?
