Brexit Thread
The day is here.

It's too close to call.

So far, not much has gone on other than some moaning about the English flag being displayed at a polling station.

I'm pessimistic. I think Putin wins this one. At least I can cheer for Scottish independence and the emergence of Dublin as a new financial center.

All I've seen thus far is some crying over the English flag in a polling station.

Fox Business will have mirror coverage of SKY News at 9 PM ET. BBCWN coverage begins at 6 PM ET. Most people think it's close enough final results won't be in until morning ET tomorrow.

Both events (Brexit and Scottish independence) would be adventageous to the people. Government is best closest to the people.

It would be a disaster for the English. And also for the European economy as a whole The USA would not like this result either.

I haven't seen a shred of evidence to support this claim. Just fear mongering without even a logical potential chain of events to support it, much less any actual data or economic model.

So in other words, "trust me, the economy is going to crash".

But no methodology, logic, chain of events, list of assumptions, or any meat whatsoever to the opinion.

That is what I thought.

Better effort than John0, but it still falls short. At least it lists assumptions even though it states them as facts. The big assumption is that Germany will cut them off from trade... but Germany is mercantilist and they are already winning and benefitting from a huge trade imbalance. They would be hurt a lot more than the UK from sour grapes.

If they do cut off trade though, it would be a huge opportunity for the US.

Germany isn't the one that will kneecap the UK in a Brexit scenario...France is going to be the problem.

France has to do what Germany does and the EU is Germany.

Not so sure about that. Remember, that without the UK, France's influence will magnify. And the Dutch, Belgians, and Spaniards seem to be more in the 'kneecap' camp.

Don't forget the flag of St. George. England must receive its lost pride.
