That is a fair point but I would like to point out our attendance has seen an overall 31.33% increase in the last 10 years (2006-2015) versus the previous 10 (1996-2005).

The average bump (1996 vs. 2006 for example) over the season 10 years previous was 28.87%.

This includes such stellar seasons as 3-8, 3-8, 3-8, 0-11, 5-7, 3-8, 5-7. and 5-7.....

We made (and continue to) make the necessary changes. I would think the floor for us is similar to 2014. Yes we went 8-5 but you would think we went 1-11.... the way we all felt and we still averaged 28k. Even if you discount our opening game that year (1st in the new stadium) we still averaged 26k.

All that is a long way to say our floor is now 26-28k and we will only continue to raise that bar. Games have become much more than just the game with the tailgating and overall atmosphere outside the stadium. It is and continues to become a place to be and not just when we are good though that helps....

Give us another year or two of our established growth and you will see that floor land at 30k. Times have changed on Cullen Blvd. We aren't the UH that was left out of the SWC.

Just wish we had this level of commitment 20 years ago and didn't wait 10 years to make the changes necessary.

Well at least it is happening at a critical time with all the expansion talk.

And why for selfish reasons I hope the PAC moves on Houston first before the Big12... Hehe

Where have you seen this?

Was stated by Compher on Pirate Radio last week.

My understanding from someone I know that works in the AD who isn't particularly fond of Compher (for the record) is that this comment is indeed true.

Also, congrats to Houston. I know it's a great feeling to see investment and success begin to pay off

Seems to be more than a couple of people in there who feel that way about him. I know one personally as well.

While I don't disagree with either of you of hoping for the Pac 12 to come calling, wouldn't be better if we got picked up by Big XII and show that the Cougars can compete with the big boys till the GoR expires??

That way after the Big XII dissolves, UH has a better chance of finding a home afterwards.

I would rather be in a conference that isn't going to dissolve.

So true. Their numbers are the envy of the rest of the league. Yet they do so in the midst of 'no market'.

You're 100% correct, Go Coogs GO 04-cheers

UH is not the program it was before... The interest level here (Houston) for UH is incredible now... With the new football stadium in place I don't see UH falling back to old nightmare days... Even after good HC's leave others will be in line to keeping this train well oiled and top recruits still walking those hall ways wanting to play here.

Yeah, things are different at UH

It is what we are hoping for in Philly. Sustained success in a competitive environment.

Ding Ding!

This and the fact that the P12 has no competition on the west coast and will never be going anywhere.

Given a choice we choose any P5 not named the B12 but in our world beggars can't be choosers.

(sigh) If only we had access to the permanent state fund like UT an aTm. Then we could go to any conference we wanted like the SEC even.

Easily. Youve obviously never been to clempson

Iptay

The revenue clemson gets off 10k season tickets is probably a whole year for houston.

Bad example

C'mon man... Hell, even UT in a football state as Texas will lose interest if they were in a G conference... C'mon man stay with here.

Wait I'm confused clemson doesn't get to play Clemson? Clemson is selling tickets to see their team play? No offense but try using better grammar.

Clemson should play Clemson every year. It's a sad reality when natural rivals can't share the same conference.

F conference realignment.

I think he's saying they have less marquee games than the rest of the conference because they don't even get to play a team the level of themselves.
