I don't see it working out in new york where the media can be very unforgiving.

That team could be devastating, but I have a feeling Derrick will stay injuried and butt heads with Melo.

The Chicago media weren't a walk in the park. He got a free pass for a while b/c he was a hometown product, but after a while I think even that started to turn against him.

Wonder if the Knicks will say "From Memphis" in the introductions.

I was thinking the same but I doubt it since he got sued or someone attempted to sue him from Memphis but if that didn't happen I bet he would have.

To be completely honest, I made that post entirely tongue-in-cheek. It is not NTR.

Crazy to me how different things are now from when he won the MVP. He and the Bulls looked to be ready to challenge LeBron; Derrick was the hometown kid still in his hometown while LeBron was a turncoat. Now the same day as LeBron is having his parade in Cleveland Derrick gets traded in what is basically a salary dump + Robin Lopez. Life comes at you fast.

DRose is just not Lebron, even when he was completely healthy. I recall Lebron basically putting the clamps on DRose in the playoffs, crunch time, Rose < Lebron. Not to say Rose is not a great player, or was not a great player, but they were never going to challenge Lebron.

I hope he has some tread left on the tires, when he's healthy, he's awesome to watch, fearless driving into the lane, incredibly athletic.

I'll actually be rooting for the Knicks, despite the fact that I think Melo is a wannabe superstar.

New York is a graveyard for players, so this sucks for DRose imo.

I don't see him ever returning to his previous form for any length of time. He just does't have the body to endure that kind of day-in and day-out pounding. Very unfortunate and undoubtedly very frustrating for him, as well.
