It's a good clean way for him to communicate to the media that the class is projected to be very good. Have to keep throwing coal in the fire to get the train where it's going. Positive synergy in every aspect. Most people have noticed that reciting the "nevers," hyping the recruiting classes, silly videos, sports talk circuit....all of this has put WMU in the national media's general awareness. It puts the ball on the tee. Now the team has to smack the drive down the fairway with their play on the field.

Correct. The staff communicates to the media be it traditional or otherwise. For who's consumption?

If the star ratings are important to him in the evaluation process why is he settling for any 2 stars?

Because he isn't and this dribble is for the fan base.

The staff has done a good job in recruiting with an emphasis on depth. The final grade is earned between the lines. Performance trumps expectations. Star system is hype plain and simple.

Besides potential for a good record and championship...is there potential on the schedule for a moment this year? Maybe an incredible play or 2 to beat NW...maybe CRUSH the Illini?

Remember Woodson's Wolverines? Fans were like...score quick or punt, we want to see that D on the field. They had some sort of no-touchdown streak. I would LOVE to have that with WMU.

Incredibly, I don't think it will take a "moment" to win the NW game. I think it's more a toss up game, we have an even chance for a win. Don't get me wrong, a win will still be very very cool, but it won't take a miracle play to do that, we are a pretty good team at this point. In a no excuses environment, a win should not be a surprise.
