Yep. As a reference, last year the entire schedule (both CAA and non-CAA) was released on July 2nd. The MBB CAA schedule is still not released yet either. I don't know if the new streaming agreement with Flo Sports and schedules involving that for both MBB and WBB are holding things up for the CAA schedule or what????

I'd guess this is due to the opening of the new arena.

RE: Future WBB Schedule
We knew the Dukes would be playing at UVA in the Cavalier Classic. UVA released their non-ACC schedule this past week.

JMU at UVA will be on Nov. 30, Saturday, time TBA. UVA hosts UCLA the following day. I checked UCLA's schedule online and it has not been posted yet for the upcoming season. I'm guessing the Good Gals will face whoever UCLA plays on Day 1 the following day on Sunday at JPJ Arena.

So it's one of those "tournaments" where the final feature game is pre-determined?
I understand why they do that, but still like the old style "classics" & the opportunity to bring home the trophy.

RE: Future WBB Schedule
UCLA released their schedule this week. The Bruins open the Cavalier Classic in Charlottesville against Central Florida. Therefore, the Dukes will face UCF on Sunday, Dec. 1, at JPJ Arena.

So, we know...

Nov. 9 (Sat) at Villanova
Nov. 13 (Wed) home vs Maryland
Nov. 17 (Sun) home vs St. John's
Nov. 24 (Sun) home vs Liberty
Nov. 30 (Sat) at Virginia
Dec. 1 (Sun) vs Central Florida (at UVA)
Dec. 20 (Fri) at George Washington, 7pm, ESPN+

edited to add St. John's

Seriously??? Season ticket renewal deadline is not for another six weeks so if knowing the schedule was going to make or break whether or not you renewed your tickets you had a lot of time to make that decision.

The schedule will come out when the schedule comes out. Perhaps the coaching staff is waiting until the CAA releases its schedule, perhaps they are still working on a couple of great games and don't have the details all worked out yet and maybe they are just yanking everyone's chain. I highly doubt it is the third and most likely it is the first.

I hope the team has a fabulous European trip and gets stronger with each game. This will be a fun year for the Dukes - no matter who they play and where they play.

No need to head bang. You just don't understand. Schedules are planned on a muliti year basis. If you want to play a power 5 at home, you are most times going to need to play them one or two times at their place in return. There will be teams we play at in 2019 and 2021, so they will play us in 2020.

Well whoop de s***. I mean, we already played Maryland at their place. Not that I care, except that I get to yell at the Brendasaurus in person this year. And the pep band will be right in her ear this time! And we've played other P5 teams at the Convo (and beaten a few) so I don't get that it's such a big deal.

It just takes ungodly long every dang year to get the WBB schedule, Convo or not. It took an ungodly long time LAST year, and the year before that, and the year before that. So don't try to tell me it's the "new arena". I think it's partly that P5s are afraid of us, especially since the year JMU beat UCLA. Any time a mid-major (which we indubitably are, regardless of our talent, and please don't try to tell me otherwise) beats a P5 or even gets close, most P5s get scared of them because they're afraid of getting beat themselves and damaging their precious RPI. It's a fact.

And BTW, LoveThoseDukes, my ticket purchase has NOTHING to do with the schedule. if it did, I would wait. I just want to get my tickets, that's all. I'd also love to know who the ladies are playing!

As a reference point, only 1/3 of all D1 mens programs have released their OOC schedules as of right now (and JMU is actually one of them). I do not have the data for d1 womens programs but I assume it is reasonably close to being the same. So you say that "most" teams have released their schedules and imply JMU is way behind everyone else... but 2/3 of all men's programs still have schedules yet to release.

We should have a game at Georgetown this fall also. Have checked the Georgetown schedule but they have not posted their OOC schedule yet.

Yep. There are a LOT of WBB schedules yet to be released. Including the Hokies. Might not happen, but hoping we get them on the schedule this year regardless of whether at home or at their place. Like UVA, that is a game that should be happening annually (IMO).

Agree with you re VT. Have a feeling that any games won't happen until the last of Kenny's players graduate which should be this year me thinks. So perhaps next season when the AUB opens up. Should also be playing UVa often but after getting beat as often as they have been by the Dukes as of late not so sure they want to schedule JMU!!

You got it. I would think JMU is an attractive out-of-conference game for P5's (Maryland gets it, for instance, among many others). We help their RPI because we are pretty much a 25+ win team that boosts their SOS (and RPI in the process). UVA and VPI&SU is just a matter of legitimizing the Dukes as their peers in the sport of WBB within the commonwealth. Kind of like how they are playing us in WLAX, Softball, etc.

Man i want to get to the point in my life where the only thing I'm concerned about is when the women's basketball out of conference schedule will be released.
