Led by NY AG Eric Schneiderman (D) a coalition of Democratic state AGs have announced actions against Exxon for profiting from their alleged denial of global climate change.

Now 13 Republican AGs have issued a letter to their fellow AGs suggesting investigations of those who may have gained financially from fraudulent exaggerations of the risks of climate change.

Quote:“If Exxon’s disclosure is deficient, what of the failure of renewable energy companies to list climate change as a risk?” If climate change turns out to be less serious than advertised, then “‘clean energy’ companies may become less valuable and some may be altogether worthless,” the letter adds.

It has been reported that Al Gore has a net worth of nearly $200 million; a far cry from his wealth when leaving office and it has been suggested that he has reaped great benefit from his hyperbole.

The AGs admit that they have no intention of filing any of these suits but merely are trying to advise their colleagues of the folly of their activities.

Both lawsuits are asinine. How can you sue over something not codified in any law?
