Lots and lots of exhibition games when teams traveled by train, but no regular-season until now.

after reading this, I can't help but think MLB was trying a little too hard. or maybe it was really the military that pushed this despite what the article says.

i think I heard that all those veterans days celebrations at college football stadiums are paid for by the miltary, I could be wrong.
