Dual offensive coordinators
I notice Scott Satterfield has added a second OC and Georgia Southern will also have two OCs for the new coaching staff. Anyone else have these for your team? Does it work?

I do wonder about this when our head coach is a defense guy.

RE: Dual offensive coordinators
Seems like A-State had a run game coordinator and a pass game coordinator under Freeze and we scored a bunch of points and won the conference that year.

RE: Dual offensive coordinators
Troy has two offensive coordinators, Kenny Edenfield and Matt Moore. Neither of them are the primary play callers. Head Coach Neal Brown calls the plays during games.

Edenfield was our OC from 2010 through 2014 and also coaches wide receivers. Matt Moore is our running backs coach.

We are trying it this year. It can't get any worse than our offense last year.

RE: Dual offensive coordinators
Satterfield has had two OC's his entire tenure, a run-game coordinator and pass-game coordinator. Satt still calls the offensive plays.

And Freeze called the plays. It seems like every time a team uses Co-OC's, the head coach calls the plays. Harsin did the same thing here for the first half of the season before he fired himself as play caller, and turned it over to one of the OC's.

IIRC, Moore is the run game coordinator and O line coach. Reagan has the QBs/RBs...

I actually meant O-Line coach. I had gotten confused. And he's one of the best in the country looking back at his stats from Texas Tech, LATECH, MTSU, and Troy...

Our O-Line struggled in the spring, but he's one guy I know can get it worked out.

Especially true for us since Arkansas law said you couldn't pay 2 people working the same job significantly more than each other. Only slight raises based on experience.

Teis must be getting ulcers. New HC with a significant pay increase over Fran. Larger assistants budget, COA, multi millions being spent on Strahan upgrade, new turf and plans for an indoor practice facility.

Never worked well for us and was a disaster with co-DCs last year.

Our Offensive Coordinator is Brett Elliott, the 34 year old that will be at Texas State for a year or two before moving on to a Power Conference. USC had dual offensive coordinators in 2005 with Lane Kiffin and Steve Sarkisian. That worked very well, but it also helps to have a Reggie Bush and Matt Leinart, among others on that NFL type roster.

John Wiley was on the App staff for 2o years and the DC during the glory years. Randall McCray is a former Mountaineer player. Both are really good guys.

Naming a second guy an offensive coordinator is just a promotion on paper. Same as assistant and associate head coaches.

You can't villify Hatcher for what happened to the offense and blame Gillespie as well.
