Good point, I probably should have made a distinction somewhere. Our 100m guys are going to compete at Nationals first.

The Olympic selection committee is possibly the largest collection of idiots on earth.

You misspelled World Cup.

Seriously, the IOC is horrible too. And a collection of corrupt America haters too. But then again, does anyone in the USA really WANT to host the Olympics? I'm a big government kind of guy but even I see the Olympics (and especially the Winter Games) as a gigantic waste of money. The World Cup is something that is valuable for the USA however.
I'd like to see the USOC bid for the 2024 Games. Just to punk them. The bid would involve a national bid. Meaning that while most events would be in one city, we'd just move some of the events to other parts of the country based upon existing infrastructure. For example, Canoe and Kayak would be in Oklahoma City, because we already have a facility there. Tell them, our bid contains no new Olympic stadium, very few new venues, strong controls on IOC spending from the budget, etc. Basically, the bid would be for security costs. Basically submit a bid at 10-15% of the cost of the other bidders. We won't get the games anyway, so why not just use the bidding process to make them look like fools.

I think LA is bidding on 2024. I'm sure it will end up going to someone like UAE or Kyrgyzstan.

Former TXST pole vaulter, Logan Cunningham (2014), finished first in the prelims today. He goes on to the Monday finals. Hopefully he has a good day then. Top 3 go.
Former TXST female pole vaulter, Anika Newell (2015), will test her mettle at the Canadian Trials July 10.

RE: Alums in Rio
We've got two people that will be competing at the trials tomorrow. Alum Sharika Nelvis who was 2014 NCAA indoor and outdoor hurdles champion, will be trying to grab a spot in the loaded 100m hurdles field. Erin Farmer will also be competing in the shot put tomorrow.

Amber Campbell just qualified for her 3rd straight Olympics. Set a personal best, and won the Hammer Throw qualifier.

Former TXST female pole vaulter, Anika Newell (2015), made the Canadian team today. Now, do I root for her or for the USA gals?
Fans problems.
