Fantasy P4
This isn't about scenarios...realistic or theoretical. This is purely about having fun.

The only rules here are that you have to divide all the powers among 4 conferences. The conference champions get births in the CFP at the end of the regular season. Break it down however you want...number of schools, number of league games, conference semis if you like or no conference title game if you don't want.

If you could be king for a day, how would you set it up?

Fantasy P4
If I were college football czar, I would redo conferences & start a P4 from scratch. Everyone would play a 4 team CC. Winners advance to 4 team CFP.

PAC 16
North- Cal, Stanford, Oregon, Washington State

West- USC, UCLA, Washington, Oregon State

South- Arizona, Arizona State, TT, BYU

East- Utah, Colorado, Iowa St, Boise

ACC
North- ND, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, WV, Cincinnati, UConn

South- Auburn, FSU, Clemson, Miami, Louisville, Kentucky

Central- Tennessee, Georgia, NC, Duke, Virginia, ECU

SEC
East- Florida, SC, GT, VT, NC State, UCF

Central- Alabama, LSU, A&M, Ole Miss, Miss State, Vanderbilt

West- Texas, Oklahoma, TCU,
Baylor, Arkansas, Oklahoma State

B1G 18
East- Michigan, Penn St, Michigan State, Maryland, Rutgers, BC

Central- Ohio State, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Northwestern, Purdue

West- Nebraska, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Kansas, Kansas State

One is left out but 7 are added, including ND & BYU. WF is switched out with ECU.

RE: Fantasy P4
I don't like the idea of a Power 4. I wish that the NCAA would have ruled that all you needed was 8 conference members instead of 10 to have a championship game. These mega conferences are vastly overblown and outside of the money. Really aren't worth being in. You hardly ever get to play anyone on the other side of the conference.

RE: Fantasy P4
Fantasy Only:

SEC:

Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, N.C. State, South Carolina, Virginia Tech

Alabama, Auburn, Mississippi, Mississippi State, Tennessee, Vanderbilt

Arkansas, Louisiana State, Miami, Missouri, T.C.U., Texas A&M

Reasons: Virginia Tech & N.C. State add new markets. T.C.U. delivers more of a market that we want and gives us a 2nd school in Texas which is important for recruiting. Miami give us the simple majority of college football viewing households in the state, a second Florida school which helps further with recruiting, and it gives us a school in a part of Florida where our presence isn't as strong.

ACC:

Boston College, Louisville, Notre Dame, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, Virginia

Clemson, Duke, Florida State, Georgia Tech, North Carolina, Wake Forest

Kansas, Kansas State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas, Texas Tech

Reasons: Yes the ACC gives up 3 schools. But, they give up no states, no top schools in a state, and they add almost 33 million viewers and a solid Western Division and gain N.D. full time. (If the Irish decline W.V.U. is still there to get to 18 full members and reconnect the footprint and N.D. can be kept as a partial.) It gives the ACC the branding and markets necessary to receive payouts on par with the SEC. It also sets up a very nice rivalry relationship with the SEC across the board.

Big 10:

Connecticut, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Ohio State, Penn State, Purdue, Rutgers

Iowa, Iowa State, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Nebraska, Northwestern, Wisconsin

Reasons: It's my fantasy so having their blowhards settle for UConn and Iowa State would be supreme for the enjoyment of resulting meltdowns.

PAC:

Brigham Young, Nevada Las Vegas, Oregon, Oregon State, Washington, Washington State, Utah

Arizona, Arizona State, California, California Los Angeles, Colorado, Southern Cal, Stanford

Reasons: B.Y.U. is a money maker worthy of P inclusion. Nevada is a state where the PAC truly needs a presence.

My normal pro-independence posts aside, man that is one crappy division.

RE: Fantasy P4
I've got a fantasy P2:

AMERICAN LEAGUE (36 schools)

NORTH: Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, Northwestern, Purdue
EAST: Ohio St., Michigan, Michigan St., Penn St., Rutgers, Indiana
ATLANTIC: Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, Duke, Georgia Tech, Vanderbilt
COASTAL: Notre Dame, Pitt, Syracuse, Boston College, Miami, Navy
SOUTHWEST: Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, Colorado, Nebraska
PACIFIC: USC, Stanford, Arizona St., Oregon, Washington, Utah

The American League comes from the B1G adding:
- Texas, Oklahoma, and Kansas from the Big 12;
- Missouri and Vanderbilt from the SEC;
- Notre Dame, UVA, UNC, Duke, Georgia Tech, Pitt, Syracuse, Boston College, and Miami from the ACC;
- USC, Stanford, Arizona St., Oregon, Washington, Colorado, and Utah form the PAC;
- Navy from the AAC.

NATIONAL LEAGUE (36 schools)

EAST: Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, South Carolina
SOUTH: Texas A&M, Arkansas, LSU, Ole Miss, Mississippi St., Kentucky
ATLANTIC: Florida St., Clemson, NC State, Virginia Tech, Louisville, WVU
COASTAL: Houston, Cincinnati, UConn, Temple, USF, UCF
SOUTHWEST: TCU, Baylor, Texas Tech, Oklahoma St., Kansas St., Iowa St.
PACIFIC: UCLA, California, Arizona, Washington St., Oregon St., BYU

The National League comes from the SEC adding:
- Florida St., Clemson, Virginia Tech, NC State, and Louisville from the ACC;
- UCLA, California, Arizona, Washington St., and Oregon St. from the PAC;
- TCU, WVU, Baylor, Texas Tech, Oklahoma St., Kansas St., and Iowa St. from the Big 12;
- Houston, Cincinnati, UConn, Tempe, USF, and UCF from the AAC;
- BYU from independence.

12-game regular season schedule includes: 5 intra-division, 4 cross-division (with some annual locks), and 3 cross-league (with some annual locks). 1 pre-season exhibition game allowed against G5 school (no FCS games). Exhibition game doesn't count for win-loss record or stats - also, redshirt players can play.
