Didn't gun sales spike the moment Obama was pretty much assured to win?
They increased. Sales spiked every time he threatened to restrict 2nd amendment rights, but you already knew that.
Of course...but they also spiked by mere mention of his name regardless of anything he proposed. Thanks to the NRA.
Again, the only two changes to gun rights during his two terms so far have actually expanded them.
and what has he stated he wants to do? Care to actually address what causes the spike in sales and prices or would you rather beat around the bush a little more?
Irrational fear spikes the cost more than anything. But to deny that the chief propaganda arm of the gun manufacturers is complicit is laughable at best.
And I'm more than confident that the fears were well laid out before Obama even hinted at proposing anything.
And actually...Obama pretty much wants to do the exact same things that many of you here said you wanted to do in the other thread about sales to those on the watch lists!

Depends on what watch list you are talking about. The other issue is all the stuff he has said he wants to do.

Except our soldiers use AK's and not AR's... You know this of course but if you ignore that you can pretend that the AR15 is a super military weapon.
I love the democratic pivot on the AR15..
In 2013 we were told "The AR is too much of a gun for a person to defend themselves"...
Now of course the AR15 is so easy to use it has to be banned.

I seriously doubt you are on board with giving out over 2 million fully automatic weapons to retired military service members.
Quote:The re-vamp of the M4 includes a heavier barrel, ambidextrous safety controls and conversion from three-round burst to fully automatic.
The Army has competed transitions at Fort Riley, Kansas; Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield, Georgia; and Fort Drum, New York, according to Rowland.
Partial upgrades have been made to 8th Army's M4s in Korea and Fort Bragg. Fort Campbell was to begin receiving the M4A1s in June, once the Army finished at Fort Bragg.
thats going to cost the army some money, full auto is less accurate, thats why in the Marines they advised against using the 3 round burst because of the low accuracy that it presented.
Yeah, we were always told to leave it on semi for same reason ....
Dumb question. Did the Marines train with those damn blank adaptors? Do they even blank adaptors anymore? Do you use M16s anymore?
Used to hate using those. Made cleaning the 16 a royal pain in the neck.

Which are?
Fingerprint technology and tracking devices in firearms.
He's hinted at pressuring retailers to stop selling semi-automatic weapons and higher capacity magazines.
Requiring the SSA to disclose mental health information about beneficiaries.
Complete ban on "military style" assault weapons
Promoted requirement for trigger locks on guns.
Supported handgun bans in the past
Limit gun purchases to 1 per month
Supported ban on all semi-automatic guns
Voted against prohibiting victims of crimes from suing manufacturers

Yet the only two gun bills that became law in 7.5 years expanded gun rights to national parks and trains. Interesting.

You forgot having his Justice Dept start Operation Choke Point in an attempt to put gun dealers out of business.
RE: Looks like law abiding citizens are snapping them up now
I have no problem with people owning AR-15's or the like. They are fun to shoot.
For home defense, buy a shotgun. Get one of the short barrells, with a grip. I have a Mossberg 500 tatical for this reason. Use birdshot for maximum spread, plus lower wall penetration. I've been hit with birdshot before (not related to a home invasion) and believe me, its extermely painful to get hit with it outside of the kill range.
.223 goes through walls easily, same with 9mm, .38, or whatever. Plus you have a higher chance of missing.

yes we did, but we didnt shoot blanks while we had them in.
While in bootcamp I trained with the M16-A2, but while I was in Iraq I had the M16-A4.

Bull ****. Dude, your whole life seems to be a debunked conspiracy theory.
Quote:DOJ has filed [A WHOPPING] three Operation Choke Point prosecutions — all against banks it says ignored indications they were processing fraudulent payments. In some cases, it appeared that firms were simply pillaging money from consumer bank accounts without authorization. Anti-money laundering law has long barred banks from allowing illegal money to flow through the banking system, and requires banks to keep tabs on customers. Federal courts have signed off on settlements in all three Choke Point cases.
