Near Hofstra you say? I wonder if it is a NY kid or they are traveling to the neighboring areas? It's not Kupsas. I'm curious who it is. I'm guessing it is a New England prep game on Friday on the way to Northeastern on Saturday.

Hotchkiss Basketball tweeted this on September 21: "Within 2 weeks in the US, 6'8" F Adria Amabilino Perez '18 already hearing from multiple A10, Ivy, Colonial, Patriot and Am. East Schools." Davidson was one of those schools, with an associate coach visiting Hotchkiss in early October, though they just filled a big man spot last night. Hotchkiss is holding open gyms every Wednesday and Sunday - maybe Holmes is up in Connecticut this week.

Perhaps it's this kid? This is back from November. Perez fits that NY-NE area.

Even if it is I'm not sure he's big enough. Great skill set and a player I'd love to get but I don't really see him playing the "one in" for us.

I agree. I'd prefer the inside bruiser. If accounts are true (reports vary all over the place), Perez is 6'8 220lbs. That is pretty good size for an incoming freshman. Who knows? I'll trust coach Holmes and his judgment if he offers.

Those 2016 highlights make him appear more like a poor man's drew peterson - though not nearly as quick or explosive.

Another option the coaches have a relationship with is Isa Maguire. He visited W&M unofficially at one point, and has since moved from Chicago to prep school in New England and reclassed to 2019. Is it possible they are checking in and possibly pushing for him to graduate in 2018? Definitely a long shot scenario, but it's fun to speculate.

Fardaws Aimaq is also in the Northeast - Bridgton Academy is in Maine and Friday evening they play in Gill, MA against Maguire and Northfield-Mount Hermon. Kotie Kimble saw him at a practice mid-December.

I thought about him, but how far is Maine from NY /Boston?

Dug a little deeper, and apparently Aimaq's Bridgton Academy plays at Maguire's Northfield Mt Hermon in Massachusetts on 2/16. I would bet that is the game we are attending.

Haha came to the same conclusion. It's less than an hour out of the way going from Hempstead to Boston

Not sure of how realistic an opportunity he would get at a HM.

He holds a pretty unusual set of offers: Radford, Mercer, Simon Fraser (?), San Francisco, and Pepperdine. I'd take that beautiful coastline any time.

Simon Fraser is in British Columbia where Aimaq is from. In an interview he said program fit matters more than location.

Chase Audige and Hill teammate Nick Alikakos named to All-MAPL team.

The 6’8” Alikakos just recently started following Tony Shaver (and other college coaches) on Twitter so I assume he’s interested in the Tribe.

I'll take him any day. Looks like a bigger, less athletic Pierce.

Yeah, he’a listed as a G/F, but he’d play F for us and spend some time at the 5 too.

Not sure if he can defend the post or not, but he’d be a matchup nightmare for opposing post players on offense if he can somehow hold his own on defense.

Would definitely take him.

I like his game. Offensively it appears that he would be a good fit in our system.

Not sure we've shown any interest in Alikakos. He's a tweener at 6'7" and might not be athletic enough to compensate at the next level. Will give him credit for an uncanny ability to get the job done despite not looking pretty doing it. Think his original Patriot League commit was his best option, though.

This

I too see him as a tweener. Not big enough to play inside in the CAA and not quite quick enough to be on the perimeter at the D1 level. Nice skill set though.
