I'm pretty confident that one of A-State's QB's will be the player of the year in the SBC ,IF it is not one of their receivers.

Probably Matt Breida. Unless Fields has a monster season because they'll split carries more.

Do we only have four bowl ties again this year? I can never keep those developments straight.

Apparently GS will be the only team with a bowl game judging by the record prediction.

If they were to beat A-State maybe, but that is not likely at their place.

Again you guys don't know how talented this years team is, because you are still going by last years team, and there is no comparison.

While they were obviously more talented than any SBC team last year, their team this year is head-and-shoulders above last years in talent so enjoy the off season, because they will totally dominate the real one.

I love going into the season with low or no expectations. There will be little pressure on the team except the pressure that is put on by themselves. I can see us doing better than 5th in the conference. I'm not ready to say we will win it but we will compete.

You still have a talented roster of players, good coaches and can still make a strong argument that you have the best "program" in the SBC. IMO UL and A-State are neck and neck in that regard.

We might not be as talented, but we have a pretty good football program. Talent doesn't always win.

IMO it could go to a number of guys, of course I'm partial to Matt Breida :)

When was the last time A-State played an option team and what happened ?

Navy 2010? They lost 35-19, but I'm not sure what a game 6 years ago has anything to do with our matchup this year.

I can tell you that: nothing. We don't run the flex and they have zero players or coaches left from that match up. I would look at how they played Texas St two years ago because that should be the closest they have come to facing our scheme unless they played someone OOC that runs something like we have.

That is why I'm on record saying that getting AppSt and GaSo were two of the biggest gets in realignment....period, and I would no swap them for any that left.

I actually like several of the other newbies, and think they will be better than the F_U's, or UNT in football.

That still does not change the fact A-State and UL are currently the best "programs", and A-State has the best roster of talent in the SBC....again. Keeping their coaching staff relatively in tack should help make that fact more obvious even if it has been pretty obvious, and will be more so this year.

We'll see how it shakes out in a few years. There's no telling with our new coaching staff. I have higher hopes than most, but others concerns are at least warranted for the time being.

In other news, your compliments are like getting handed a single stuffed Oreo. You're still thankful... but you somehow cant help but feel like you're still getting the shaft.

My compliments, who cares.

Anyone that followed college football knew that AppSt, and GaSo were good football schools. Yesterday, today and tomorrow.

Being good in football was not as critical to the CEO's making the decisions on which schools to add in the other conferences, as it now is, because the game changed on them.

RE: 2016 Athlon Sports Magazine SBC Prediction
I'm looking forward to our game with A-State. I think our defense is going to be a good bit better this season, especially with the front 5. They will surprise a lot of people this year. I'm not worried about our offense at all. We will basically see the same offense as last year, but maybe with some more appropriately timed passing. Not saying we will win the conference, but ark state won't be blowing us out by any stretch.
