Gay Activist: "After Orlando, I've switched my vote to Trump"
Link to Zerohedge Post
Intro:
"This is the saddest day of my life. I can't even wrap my mind around the horror of what happened last night in Orlando, where 50 joyful dancing queers were murdered by a religious extremist. I'm sad -- devastated, in my soul -- about that; but I'm also sad that the events of Orlando have shattered my political beliefs, as I can no longer swear allegiance to a peace-love-and-unicorns progressive philosophy that only helps to get my fellow queers killed..."

He's a nut. He's the kind of loon that creates an organization with no members and then tries to pretend he's speaking for everyone else. And names it something very similar to a real LGBT organization.
He's kind of the equivalent of someone who would start an "AR-15 owners for Hillary group"

In the past, I remember you saying that conservative gays betray the family. You know more than I do about him, but that statement sticks in my memory.

Well, the Democrats sure don't have a message that says they are interested in protecting folks from Islamic terrorism.

I thought that's why we had a 700 billion dollar military, along with an alphabet soup of armed federal agencies...but yeah, it's all the democrats fault

Tom, if I'm not mistaken, earlier tonight Anderson interviewed a young man who was in a bathroom stall and heard the killer's call to 911 that has been reported. He repeated what has already been reported but also added that he heard the killer say that there were four more of him (killers?). It is not clear from the interview or the language that it was four more targeting the gay community or other targets or four other killers in general. In your opinion, what should the response be with that information?

A gay guy is running a similar platform in the Netherlands as Trump. Mainly saying immigrants to the Netherlands impedes his ability to lead a free gay lifestyle.

Considering that Islam teaches children from a very young age that homosexuals need to be killed, I'd say more gay people should probably support Trump. Hillary Clinton, at best, will maintain the status quo when it comes to acceptance of Islamic extremism.

Dasville, doesn't it seem strange that the Guy from New Albany that got busted in L.A. with high powered weapons and explosives also beat up and also damaged the Female neighbors cars . He was also seen with a male lover as well as getting into a confrontation with 2 males kissing somewhere locally. Seems like the exact plot of the Orlando shooter. So far no Islamic connections but both on the same day on opposite coasts and a Gay Pride day connection out there seems more than a coincidence to Me. The FBI and ATF were all over His house yesterday.

I lived in the Netherlands from 05-06. There was a radical anti-Muslim political party run by an openly Gay Dutchman (Pim Fortuyn). Fortuyn was assassinated by a non-Muslim Dutchman in 2002.
Trying to fit an American context onto Dutch politics usually causes problems. Dutch Gays are VERY well integrated into society. There's very little discrimination or even disapproval in society. So while there are Gay political groups, they generally work on foreign policy issues.
Muslims constitute about 7% of the Dutch population. Most of them are great and are well integrated. The Dutch actually handle immigration and non-white immigration better than just about every other European country. But the Dutch do have a problem with racism too. There have been a few problems, but on the whole, I never felt unsafe walking past a group of persons who look Moroccan/Indonesian etc., while leaving a bar. But some of my Dutch friends constantly railed against immigration. I always found it odd that they would rail against immigrants to me, while not considering at all that I was also an immigrant (but then again, I'm white). It seemed to me that they were more interested in keeping the Netherlands white than attacking Muslims though.
Understand that, unlike in the USA, Dutch Gays are considered a fully integrated, respected, protected, and affirmed part of the culture. So you'll find some Dutch Gays who are willing to risk minority protections to go after others. But they are a decided minority. Most of my Dutch friends see those people as tools of Putin. And there are a LOT of minorities in Gay bars there.

It's pretty amazing how much energy people will spend complaining that a gay guy is not appropriately gay and or doesn't support gay liberal koans.
And it's pretty amazing how much energy people will spend complaining that Islamic terrorism is not true Islam when the Muslim terrorists are saying they are doing it in the name of Islam.

No..I was reading the NL to filth. I said they have a problem with racism. I even gave examples of that.
It just happens that a very flawed country that I left as soon as my contract was up and would not want to go back to as a permanent resident except under extreme circumstances (I still visit one a year), just happens to be very accepting of LGBT persons. There are many other problems, such as REAL socialism (not Obama or even Bernie), the difficulty of doing personal business there (all stores closed after 6pm on weekdays and all day on Sunday in most of the country), and a level of regulations that would make the Soviets spin. I always chuckle when people think that what we have here is socialism. Or that we have an overly regulated system. Or one that litigates too much. There were things that I liked about the NL. But on the whole, I'd much rather live here, warts and all.
---
But it does show that once a society stops treating people as different and subjects of scorn, that the community does fully integrate into the larger society. And that minority's positions will largely mirror that of the society from which it is attached to. At some point, I'd love to see the LGBT community in this country to be like the Irish. They still have a parade and have their bars, but that's about it. But we still have to fight over discrimination and marginalization.
I have three things in common with the rest of the LGBT community. A sexual attraction to people of my sex, the experience of marginalization and discrimination that results from that, and the desire to combat that discrimination and marginalization. Get rid of the second, the third goes away, and the first becomes irrelevant.
