Baylor & Briles
The board is expected to vote on whether just to suspend Briles for one year.

Bob Simpson, a key Baylor donor who is close to Art Briles, on the possibility of a return: "We don't know yet. We'd like to see that."

At some point, I expect the Big 12 would intervene, possibly with a threat of expulsion, if Baylor were to go this route.

RE: Baylor & Briles
I expect to see more of the same with schools like Baylor and other smaller P5 schools trying to outpunch their weight. Isn't Ole Miss now under scrutiny for unethical practices too? If you could institute salary and infrastructure caps into the game along with decreased scholarship limits in FB by 10 across the board (or more), you'll see a much better game in the future. And before any of you go off on this being "America" and "free markets", remember what we are talking about and WHO the vast majority of the stakeholders in this game are...

Most contract buyout clauses have an exception for termination with cause (as opposed to performance). I have no idea if Briles' contract has such a clause. But, if it does, and they only suspend him for a year, it would be difficult to ever enforce that clause in the future if they have second thoughts, or if they are forced to cave into a public backlash.

Answer: CFB. The NFL will throw money at problems, but at this point we haven't seen them willing to look the other way for victimizing children, I guess just women. Still pretty bad though.

RE: Baylor & Briles
If a Christian university needs a Title IX coordinator, a conference commissioner or even public opinion to convince them what is right from wrong, then they should no longer be considered a Christian university.

Absolutely disgusting that it is even being considered.

RE: Baylor & Briles
Looks like there are powerful people at Baylor determined to save Briles and his entire coaching staff while blaming no one but Starr. They think none of this would have been "a problem" if only Starr had hired a Title IX coordinator to provide cover for Briles.

These nuts are as demented as the Joe-bots at Penn State.

Wrong, we could just trade them with Houston.
