Lennie had a bad fall on the 1st (of 7) water jumps. To make things worse, while down, another runner stepped on her. In spite of the mishap, she worked hard to get back to the pack, but just didn't have quite enough to squeeze into the finals.

Managed to get back on my feet, regain contact with the pack, but still missed out on the final by one spot and less than 1 second. Proud of how I fought back--still ran my fastest time ever in a GB vest, but my heart aches knowing that I can't put the vest on for the final. The commentators sound like they are British. Lennie didn't get much camera time, but they talked a lot about her, the fall and her effort to get back into contention. Her time was announced at about 11:30, and the results after the second heat (confirming that Lennie didn't qualify for the final) come at about 23:45.

Lennie will have a final tuneup race this Saturday at the London Anniversary Games. The 3,000 meter steeplechase is set for 9:37 a.m., CDT.

The meet will be shown LIVE on Saturday from 9-11 a.m., CDT on BEIN.

Lennie stepped off the track after the second water jump with discomfort in her foot. Thankfully, there is no serious injury, so she should be fine for Rio.
